You may remember that we were fortunate enough to attend the MAC Viva Glam party last week where Dita Von Teese performed her renowned 'Lipteese' act. While there we bumped into these two gorgeous ladies who are real deal when it comes to Dita's fans. They run Dita.net the official website for Miss Von Teese and were lucky enough to be personally invited by the Queen of Burlesque herself to her party in London. Both were dressed to the nines in vintage garb (the green dress on the left was a find from Camden market), pin curls, evening gloves and fire ruby red lipstick - what else of course? Major applause for their fashion courage and for having such wonderful taste in style (and celebrities!).

Yes yes, Cameron Diaz looked hot on the MTV Movie Awards red carpet a few weeks ago, and while you can’t buy the Luella dress in stores just yet, you can certainly pick up one quite similar – vintage of course – from Sveet Couture for only US$26. It features a similar sweetheart neckline, sequins dotted around the bodice, with ruching at the waistline. Though because it is vintage, you had better cross your fingers that you are the right size... Do you, have 32” bust, a 38” waist (I think this is a typo, instead it’s suppose to be hips)? If you answered yes, then what are you waiting for? Visit Sveet Couture now!

Candy Says one of our favourite vintage websites, has been revamped and will relaunch on Wednesday. They are offering a special discount for all customers and have a regular supply of completely unworn vintage clothing and accessories, from tops and sweaters to frilly 50's knickers and even waist-cinching girdles. We've seen a sneak preview of some of the items on the site, and my faves include the burlesque style black and red hat (£30), anchor wool blazer (£55) and white leather peep toe heels (£26).
Glamorous, adventurous, well-groomed and super-friendly that's how I always saw air hostesses. For the ignorant among us they were simply glorified waitresses but to me they signalled a thrilling way to see the world. Had it not been for the tiny fact that I was determined to be a writer then I might have been one of those so-called "glorified waitresses" right now; showing you where the exit doors are located. Serving the public, especially in the sky, is not an easy or particularly glamorous job, however the manner in which flight attendants always manage to keep themselves looking immaculate still fascinates me to this day. So in honor of air hosties everywhere I have compiled this retrospective of airline uniforms because just as Candice Bergen says in the film View from the Top "we [flight attendants] learn to always keep smiling, even when we're out of Bloody Mary mix".

While everyone will be focused on snapping up designs by a very well known model at a popular store tomorrow, why not take the opportunity to escape the crowds and get down to Chelsea, Old Church Street, to have a quiet browse in the newly refurbished Red Cross shop? Avoid a tug of war over that vintage style yellow dress and instead celebrate being in the only branch of the Red Cross that sells purely designer goods by picking up a pair of Jimmy Choos for just £85. With bargains like that, I wouldn't be surprised if you saw Miss Moss there herself!

I can just see Isabelle, my colleague and 'Queen of the charity shops' screaming at her monitor as Ruby Warrington, writer for The Times bravely asks this week - is vintage over?
"The truth is that vintage has become a victim of its own success. These days, every other shop on Brick Lane in East London is stuffed with Identikit cowboy shirts and print dresses," she writes. That's true, to hunt down authentic vintage clothing these days often means you'll probably be paying through the nose for it. Warrington uses high-street stores such as Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Urban Outfitters as examples of jumping on the vintage bandwagon and therefore increasing demand and prices. "Bagging bargains used to be part of the fun, but now even the most mediocre vintage finds fetch silly money," she said.

Style bible Vanity Fair are famous for their extravagant and interesting photo work. In addition to their annual celebrity gate-fold cover, since 1992 they have also featured in their Vanities section an up and coming star. From 2006, they changed the concept by featuring promising young actresses in what they calls a '50s style pinup photo shoot, reminiscent of the work of Alberto Vargas. I can't welcome the concept enough and relish the idea of seeing some of my favourite young starlets including Emily Blunt (yes, that's her on the left) and Isla Fisher posing a lá Marilyn Monroe style. Keep reading to see more pics and speaking of Monroe, have you checked out Christina Aguilera's brilliant new video for her song 'Candyman'? Well that's also below so click on...
