Tom Ford's 'A Single Man' scoops three Golden Globe nominations

asingleman_tomford_poster.jpgPop the champagne for Tom Ford who has just scooped himself three Golden Globe nominations for his directorial début, A Single Man.

While not named, the designer's flick did earn a nod for Colin Firth, who is up for Best Actor in a Drama, Julianne Moore for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama, and the score is also nominated. It's a busy time for Julianne, she has also been revealed as the new face of Bulgari's S/S 2010 campaign.

But back to the Globes - two others to mention are Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore, who have both been nominated for their roles in the made-for-TV movie, Grey Gardens. For a full list of nominees, click here.

New 'Sex and the City 2' promo poster a Photoshop "disaster"

sarahjessicaparker_satc2promoposter.jpg

It's our first official sneak peek at the highly anticipated film sequel, Sex and the City 2, and already it is being labelled a Photoshop "disaster." It seems SATC fans aren't impressed by overly-airbrushed new promotional poster which depicts Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) strutting her stuff in a white dress and aviator glasses. In the background is a giant sparking '2' logo, and the pun "Carrie on." One blogger said you'd be "forgiven for thinking it took place in the year 3072 and all the characters had been replaced by robots." Ouch!

What do you think of poster? Tell us by leaving your comments below.

Psst... Has Alexa Chung's MTV show been cancelled?

alexachung_MTVshow_jonasbrother.jpg

Is it all over red rover for Alexa Chung's MTV show? Rumours are rife on the internet that the British style maven's daily show, It's On with Alexa Chung, has been cancelled and will not be renewed for another season. Mind you, at the same time I'm hearing from sources that the show will continue until March and then be evaluated. Although the show continues to attract a bevy of superstars (hello Jonas Brothers, pictured above) could things be on shaky ground for our Alexa's plans to conquer America? Let's hope not.

Naomi Campbell in talks to host model reality series

naomi_guestedits3am.jpgCould Naomi Campbell be about to add another string to her bow? The supermodel is reportedly in talks to be a host/judge on a new X Factor-style reality series about modelling.

"Naomi has been approached with an offer, which we are talking about and discussing," her spokesperson said. "An initial approach has been made. We are discussing that offer, but nothing is set in stone yet."

If all goes as planned, Noames could soon be mentoring a group wannabe models, offering them advice on how to make it in the industry in the hope of turning one into a winner. I wonder if this has anything to do with Simon Cowell and Sir Philip Green's entertainment venture? Better watch your back Tyra!

Film buzz: David Lynch to direct Dior film; Martin Scorcese for Chanel?

ladydior_advert_marioncoitllard.jpgJust as the word "Oscar" is being bounced around in relation to the Valentino documentary, The Last Emperor, the latest film buzz also involves a couple of designer houses and well-known filmmakers.

Last week, John Galliano and Marion Cotillard were in Shanghai to film the next installment of the Lady Dior campaign. This time, it was filmed by David Lynch, director of Mulholland Drive.

At the same time, word on the grapevine is that Martin Scorsese is involved in the next Chanel campaign. Chanel is renowned for partnering directors with their muses (Luhrmann and Kidman, Jeunet and Tautou). So does this mean we'll soon see Scorsese's muse, Robert DeNiro, in a Chanel campaign? Okay... maybe, not.

CQ Watch: Lady Gaga gets down in Gareth Pugh on X-Factor

>

As if you needed another reason to tune into X-Factor on the weekend, two of our favourite subjects - Lady Gaga and Gareth Pugh - collided. The popstrel appeared on British television to perform her latest single, Bad Romance, in a heavily constructed black catsuit and Pugh origami-style oversized arm spikes from his Spring 2007 collection. Ferosh!
