Last week we featured high-waisted clothing, with a fetching pair of Nudie jeans and a high-waisted skirt taking centre stage. This week it's the turn of high street denim and Gemma and I take a look at pegged, distressed, acid and traditional blue jeans from River Island and French Connection. Which is your favourite kind of jean?
A perfect example of what London does best, the Emilio de la Morena show (filmed here in full by On | Off) is a riot of bold colour, body-con shapes, sharp space-aged shoulders and killer heels. Enjoy!
High-waists are a trend that have been around for quite a while now so we thought we'd give it the once over on CQ and we even roped intern Alison in!
She tried out the New Look peplum skirt which will set you back a bargainous £18 and I'm wearing Nudie's black High Kai jeans, £68 from my-wardrobe. Watch to see our tips for wearing the high-waisted silhouette, and don't hesitate to comment if you've got more questions or some tips of your own.
In what is probably the most embarassing video I've ever filmed, I eschewed my usual dresses to join Zara in testing out jeans from two promblem-solving denim brands. First up, Tummy Tuck jeans help to flatten your tum, lift your bum and allow you to wear a size smaller than usual. Meanwhile, Little In The Middle jeans work on hourglass figures to stop the gape you get with regular cuts. Sadly, the pairs we tried were a tad small for our festive figures, so do forgive the sausage roll effect around my waist. The diet starts now!
Miss Polly Rae and her Hurly Burly girls perform burlesque performances everywhere from London clubs to The Alan Titchmarsh show (no, really) so we were really happy to be invited to meet Miss Polly Rae as she prepared for her latest show. Zara spoke to the retro beauty about how she perfects her polished, vintage look. If you're a fan of retro like I am, this vid is a must!
Part two in our Westfield video and Gemma and I were surprised to see some of the most exclusive Topshop offerings which are often hard to get online and sometimes even sold out.
The Markus Lupfer and Peter Jensen ranges had extra items not available instore and there was Kate Moss Limited Edition a-plenty so if you're after some Topshop luxe head down to Westfield.
There's nothing I like better than getting up an hour earlier than normal on a freezing Thursday morning to go from my cosy South London flat to the wilds of Shepherd's Bush...
Ok, maybe not. But I did it, for you! This morning Isabelle and I headed to London's brand new Westfield shopping centre to snap the stores as they opened. And, of course, we got a bit of video too. Stay tuned for loads more Westfield news throughout the day.
