Would you wear the Magic Padded Pants?

paddedpants.jpgIn the words of the lovely Susi, "Who needs them?"

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking the last thing I want to do to my bum is make it look any bigger. But I'm sure there are ladies (or gents) out there who have the opposite problem. Or people who want a bit of lift. But even so, would you really wear padded knickers? I thought Spanx were a passion killer, but surely pants with built-in bumcheeks top that? I'm going to guess the padding in these babies doesn't feel like the real thing, either!

So would you wear them? If so, they're £17.62 at Oli.co.uk!

The ultimate shapewear trial, part one; Spanx, Gok Wan shapewear, M&S and more...

shapwear_trial.jpg

In the words of many women across the globe, 'hooray for Spanx!' The new breed of hold-you-in foundation garments give you a sleeker silhouette without the pain of more old-fashioned alternatives. I wouldn't wish old-fashioned whalebone corsets or scary looking girdles on anyone. The fact we have a choice as to whether or not we want to squeeze our internal organs into tiny spaces is a wonderful thing. But that doesn't stop me having a less-than-secret love affair with shapewear.

Since we're bigger on average than we used to be, it's no surprise that women are queueing up to buy products that'll make them appear slimmer or more toned. But which do you go for? To help, I've tried everything from smoothing tights to powermesh slips in my search for the best shapewear. Here's the first part of my review, with everything from Spanx slips to M&S 'magic pants' covered...

La Senza branches out, with 40% off the most glam lingerie

lasenza.jpg

I was very kindly given some La Senza gift vouchers the other day, so today I popped along to the new Covent Garden store to treat myself. I must admit to rarely visiting before, in fact the only La Senza stuff I own was bought for me at Christmas (by my mother).

With that in mind, my first stop this time was the 'Glam' section, where prices have been slashed by 40% in the run-up to Christmas. I wanted to see what was on offer now I'm not living with my parents and sleeping in snowman PJs (as often as I used to)...

Little in the Middle jeans - perfect if the waist usually gapes on your denims

littleinthemiddlejeans.jpg

We're in the middle of yet another round of press days at the moment (this time it's Spring / Summer - just what you want in November) and yesterday one of the places we visited was ILoveJeans.com, where I discovered the problem-solving brand 'Little in the Middle'. This is a really great discovery for the (many) women who find shopping for jeans tough because the waist-to-hip ratio is wrong. If you're hourglass or pear-shaped and find jeans usually gape at the waist if they fit elsewhere, this brand may just be your savior...

Now we've seen everything: Arm hosiery

armhosiery.jpg

I know I should be out doing London Fashion Week-related things, but when this email hit my inbox I couldn't resist putting it up straight away. I know shapewear is all the rage right now, but this is taking it a little bit too far, I think. What you see up there is not a shrug. Oh no my friends! That, is arm hosiery...
