Project Catwalk winner, Jasper Garvida, to exhibit at London Fashion Week's On|Off

jaspergarvida_lfw_onoffannounce.jpgIt's good news for all those fans of last season's Project Catwalk winner, Jasper Garvida... he is exhibiting at London Fashion Week! The Canadian-born designer has revealed that he is currently preparing to display his designs, at LFW's On|Off exhibition.

"I launched my own company last September and have been so busy," he told Grazia. "I did apply for London Fashion Week in February but just couldn't afford to put on a catwalk show, so I'm exhibiting at On|Off instead. If I impress the buyers there I'll be opening a studio and doing a show at London Fashion Week in September. So I'm very, very nervous about February!"

Sky One cancels Project Catwalk - Will you miss it?

projectcatwalk_cancelled.jpg

Sadly, there will be no more Project Catwalk after Sky One announced plans to drop the reality TV series in favour of more "female-friendly" shows. Launched back in 2006, the show aimed to discover new British fashion talent, based on the US-format of Heidi Klum's highly successful Project Runway. For the third season, Kelly Osbourne took over the reins as host from Liz Hurley. She was joined by designer Ben de Lisi, who acted as both a judge and mentor.

CQ interviews Project Catwalk eliminee - Tom

pctom.jpgLast week's eliminated contestant Tom has been passionate about fashion since he was 15-years-old. Choosing fashion design over a football career, this lovable lad won the hearts of his fellow contestants and even some of the judges on Project Catwalk. Now, thanks to the show, he works for House of Holland... not bad hey? We caught up with him earlier today...

Catwalk Queen: How is Project Catwalk different in real life than what we see on TV?
Tom: It's very different. There seems to be a lot of editing and certain people come across as really venomous, when they're not. Everyone did get along in the house, there isn't as much bitchiness as what is made out.

CQ: Mentor and judge Ben de Lisi seemed to be genuinely upset when you were eliminated. Was this genuine?
T: It was both Kelly [Osborne] and Ben who set me off crying. I got along really well with both of them, in fact I go out for drinks with Kelly. It was pretty emotional, I've definitely got a ribbing for it.

CQ interviews Project Catwalk eliminee - Fionnuala

pcfionnula.jpgShe hails from Dublin from a family of Irish tailors, but her final garment failed to win over the Project Catwalk judges (including guest judge Henry Holland) in this week's challenge to create 'fashion's next big trend'. We caught up with Fionnuala earlier today...

Catwalk Queen: Describe what it's like being on a reality TV show like Project Catwalk.
Fionnuala: It was interesting to see how it's been edited. There wasn't enough focus on our work and the whole garment-making process. They also made me appear rather boring on the show, when in fact I was cracking jokes all the time.

CQ: There was some speculation this week that certain contestants were receiving more help from mentor Ben de Lisi than others. What do you think?
F: Oh we all definitely thought it. Especially with last night's episode, I couldn't believe it when Ben drew on Viv's designs. It was at that stage that I thought 'hang on a second'. Maybe it's because they're of a similar age or maybe he feels he needs to take her under his wing. I don't think Ben being a mentor and a judge is a great idea, with what he's seen earlier in the process, he could influence the other judges.

CQ interviews Project Catwalk eliminee - Angie

pcangie.jpgWe're already four weeks into Project Catwalk and the competition is hotting up. Aussie contestant Angie failed to impress the judges this week and was therefore shown the door. We caught up with the determined antipodean on what life in the PC house is really like...

Catwalk Queen: What was your experience on Project Catwalk really like?
Angie: I can't compare it to anything else in life. You're in an atmosphere where cameras are on you all the time, which isn't normal. It was a fantastic experience, full of highs and lows. I never really had a desire to go on reality TV, I really just wanted the [prize] money to start my own label.

CQ: We've heard Debbie 'Debonair's' take on your conflict with each other, what's yours?

A: I was suprised by the Debbie conflict. Sharing a room with her, I can certainly see how flighty she is. She just seemed really childish about the whole thing.

CQ interviews Project Catwalk eliminee - Debbie 'Debonair'

debonairpc.jpgIf you watched last night's Project Catwalk, you'll know that the always outspoken Debbie 'Debonair' was booted out of competition, much to the dismay (or delight) of some viewers. In case you missed it, click here. There is no denying that this lady is one of PC's more unforgettable contestants. So what does Debonair really think of her fellow designers? We dish the dirt...

Catwalk Queen: Can you describe to us what being on Project Catwalk has really been like?
Debbie: I found the impact I had on the contestants hysterical. The so-called arguments I had with others such as Angie came across to me as very weird, because while in the show I barely noticed her.

CQ: You certainly seemed to cause a bit of a stir in the house, why do you think that was?
D: I'm not sure. I think Angie may have felt intimidated by me, and Keko also.

CQ: Do you foresee a reconciliation with Angie?
D: Never, no. Because I don't really have any knowledge of her. She's the type of person that if I saw her walking down the street I wouldn't even notice her.
