The fashion world is reeling today from the tragic news that Daul Kim has died. The Korean model was found dead in her Paris apartment yesterday, aged just 20 years old. Although no official cause of death has been released, sources are speculating it was suicide.
With an incredible eye for style, Daul quickly came to the attention of editors and bloggers before beginning a career in modelling in Asia. She first hit the catwalks of Paris in 2007, and since then she has become a fixture on the fashion week circuit. She recently appeared in the ad campaign for Christopher Kane's Topshop collection.
"She was a top model and a great friend to all of us at Next. Please respect her family's privacy at this time of sadness. We will all miss her very much," her agency, Next, said in a statement.
A sad loss to many. Our thoughts go out to her loved ones.
Talk about superwoman! This time the rumours were true *faint*. Heidi Klum made a surprise appearance on the runway at last night's annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The German supermodel wowed the audience as she took to the catwalk just six weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, Lou Samuel.
Despite feeling a little unwell before the show, Australia's Abbey Lee Kershaw left a wonderful impression on the runway with Jak and Jil Blog claiming hers the "best runway presence" of the night. British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made her VS debut also helping to close the show, before the rest of the models including Chanel Iman, Doutzen Kroes and Miranda Kerr reappeared on stage for finale and a bit of a boogie. Featuring five different sections with 12 outfits each, live performances were provided by Black Eyed Peas, with Fergie bringing down the house in an emerald green ensemble. The good news is Gemma Ward isn't retiring... again! After another flurry of will-she-or-won't-she-call-it-quits rumours, the Aussie model has set the record straight for the second, or perhaps the third time (I've lost count!).
"I have not 'quit modelling' and my fans back home can expect to see me back at work modelling and acting in the new year," she said in an email to The West Australian newspaper.
This is super of course, especially for the ladies at FrostFrench who have their eye on her for their next ad campaign.

There is quite a bit going on in the land of supermodels lately. For starters, Claudia Schiffer has got a few of you talking this morning after she hinted at plans to launch a fashion line one day.
"I've been in this business for so long and developed my name globally, but I have no product to show for it. And I would love to develop it now," she told WWD at the IHT's Techno Luxury in Berlin yesterday. "I have no definite first product in mind, but I would love to do cashmere. It's something I wear all the time myself, but I'd love to do something a bit more price-friendly. Plus a lot of cashmere lines are very classic and timeless, while I'd want to do it a bit more fashion. Or I could imagine doing handbags."
I wonder if she'll turn to pals Elle Macpherson or Kate Moss for advice?

Adding to the growing brood of little angels is Adriana Lima's newest bundle of joy. The Victoria's Secret model, and her husband Marko Jaric, welcomed a baby girl on the weekend.
"Adriana and Marko are thrilled to announce they had a baby girl, Valentina Lima Jaric," a rep for Lima told People. "Mother, father and baby are all doing well."
Lima and Jaric eloped on Valentine's Day this year before learning that they were expecting their first child. "We are so excited!" she said at the time. "We wanted this. We were ready."
Although a recent birth isn't about to deter Heidi Klum from the VS fashion show this week, I think it's a safe bet that Adriana won't be appearing.
Could the hype surrounding this week's upcoming Victoria's Secret show be any greater? The latest buzz doing the rounds is that Heidi Klum is not only going play host, but is also busy getting her bod super-fit in order to model in the show.
Klum, who only gave birth to her fourth child last month, is said to have "swapped processed carbs, sugar, dairy and fruit for egg-white omelettes, spinach salads and grilled tuna with quinoa."
This flies in the face of earlier reports which claimed that Heidi would not be strutting her stuff in the label's skimpy lingerie, but would be presiding over the glittery event as MC instead.

There is lots of chatter today that the end may soon be nigh for Donatella Versace at the House of Versace.
Just last week Donatella was forced to insist that the company would weather any financial difficulties, including the lay-off of staff. However, whispers that her time may be up have been fuelled by a scathing article in Newsweek penned by Dana Thomas titled "The Tragic Decline of the House of Versace."
"Many in the fashion industry believe it's time for the brand to continue without Versace family involvement - and some suggest that the family is starting to accept this idea too..." Thomas writes. "... And will Donatella remain at the helm? 'Maybe,' says [an anonymous] former Versace executive. 'Then again, maybe not.' Which, after a decade of turmoil, may be the best thing for the company after all.'"
Meanwhile, Versace's new girl Georgia May Jagger is planning some time off...
