Anya Hindmarch to design for Barbour

anyahindmarch_inshop.jpgWith her fab English design sensibilities some may say that Anya Hindmarch designing for Barbour couldn't be more fitting.

The handbag designer has just signed on to create a line of jackets for the British heritage label. The capsule collection will include four pieces, which will go on sale this autumn via the designer's standalone stores and select Barbour outlets worldwide. Prices start at £249.

"Barbour is an iconic British brand and part of my childhood. The feel and smell of a Barbour waxed jacket is something that evokes home, family and country weekends. I can't wait to have mine so I can look less like a 'pavement girl' in the country," she told Grazia.

Pixie Market Grandpa jacket

eryn brinie jacket.jpg

Oversized with a hint of Teddy Boy this Eryn Brinie jacket will make a great addition to your winter wardrobe. Team it with a floaty dress to man up a feminine look, or wear with drainpipe trousers for sleek rocker chic.

The structured, oversized shape will slenderise limbs and with a smart handbag gives you a far more stylish silhouette than a girly coat. Snap it up from Pixie Market for $219, it's a hefty price tag but small price to pay for a timeless style that no one else will have.

Burberry, Celine, and Topshop do trench deluxe

luxe trench burberry topshop celine.jpg

We're cooing over Burberry's ruffle trench at CQ Towers, who needs to spend on dresses when your coat is guaranteed to steal the show?

Feminine shapes and soft colours are a great way to ease into spring without shedding too many layers, and over at Brandish we're loving Ville's pastel look. Celine's trench is a sportier take on the look, but the silk fabric keeps things looking sumptuous, for a more affordable version Topshop's waterfall front trench doubles up as a dress for twice the wearability. Team the luxe coats with wavy hair braided hairbands for a romantic look that's hard to beat. If you're more of a tomboy then you can team the trench with a pair of grey skinnies and some scuffed up Converse, see after the jump for full product details.

My Wardrobe sell the Olsen twins Elizabeth & James line

elizabeth_and_james.jpg

My Wardrobe have just taken delivery of some pieces from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's 'Elizabeth and James' collection, the slightly (and I do say slightly) more affordable sister to their high-fashion 'The Row' range. And as much as it pains me to say it, the twins really do seem to know what they're doing, with a particularly beautiful set of jackets with interesting shapes and cuts. The double-breasted blazer is £314, as is the slouchy glossy black jacket. For full Olsen style obviously these need to be teamed with artfully messy waved hair, lots of black eyeliner and a floor-skimming maxi dress and killer heels.

Channel Rick Owens with this ruffle jacket from Principles

biker jacket rick owens principles.jpgPrinciples are so unbelievably bang on trend (yes I just used that phrase!) with their ruffle zip jacket (£59) I just can't quite fathom it. Were they intending to channel designer du jour Rick Owens or was that merely a marvellous coincidence? Its bikerish proportions are big news news at the moment but the fluted edges stop it from straying into cliché.

In any case team the piece with a grey scarf, leggings, statement heels, and a tough chunky watch and before you know it you'll be getting papped outside Le Grand Palais in Paris I swear!
