Friday Frock: Dorothy Perkins deco midi dress

This dress has been on our mind since we first spotted it in Dorothy Perkins' promotional graphics, but it's taken ages for it to appear in stores. Now it's finally available, and we doubt it'll be about for long. With a great deco-inspired print and this season's must-have midi length, expect to see this baby at lots of festive parties. It makes a great alternative to the predictable old satin mini dress!

Marion Cotillard goes to Hollywood for Dior

Marion-Cotillard-for-Dior-Hollywood-ad.jpg

Marion Cotillard has been all over the world for Christian Dior, and now she has come back to a place she knows all too well - Hollywood. The French actress flew to Los Angeles to pose for Steven Klein at a uber-trendy house by John Lautner. Modelling with a Lady Dior handbag in multi-coloured crocodile, Marion stands against a swimming pool with the Hollywood Hills in the background. The campaign is set to launch in the International Herald Tribune on November 14.

Kate Middleton in vintage Amanda Wakeley hosts dinner at Clarence House

Kate-Middleton-vintage-Amanda-Wakeley-charity-dinner.jpg

Little did Kate Middleton know that her charity dinner at Clarence House would cause such a fuss about her hair. First the Daily Mail reported that she was wearing hair extensions (erm... so?) before a Palace spokesperson came out to reveal that the mark was not from a hair extension but rather a childhood scar from a "serious operation".

Besides that the Duchess of Cambridge's appearance was another flawless one. For her first official royal event in which she played the host, Kate wore an ice blue vintage Amanda Wakeley empire gown which featured silver sequinned criss-cross straps. Throughout the night she played the perfect host as she stepped in for Prince Charles who had to make an unexpected visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia following the death of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.

Grace Kelly film in the pipeline - Who should play her?

Grace-Kelly-b&w-portrait.jpgOne of my favourite royals, Grace Kelly, is set to be immortalised in a new Hollywood film.

Vogue UK
reports a yet-to-be-named will be based around Kelly during the six month period in 1962 when Monaco was in the midst of a dispute French President Charles de Gaulle. Kelly was said to be a key figure in settling the argument which saw the President upset about Monaco being seen as a tax haven.

Described as The King's Speech in "scope and tone," the movie is in the early days of production with a script penned by Arash Amelhaving and European producer Pierre-Ange Le Pogam.

So now it's time to decide who should play Kelly? So far Carey Mulligan, Blake Lively, January Jones, Cate Blanchett, Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron have been bandied about. Personally this is a role I see Diane Kruger lapping up.

CQ Watch: Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton chats to Cathy Horyn

Two of fashion's most powerful people have come together for a discussion that has been beautifully captured by Nowness. The New York Times's fashion critic Cathy Horyn took the opportunity to get up close and personal with Sarah Burton as well as her amazing pieces for Alexander McQueen. In this video, Burton talks about what inspires her, the Alexander McQueen woman and just how Lee Alexander mastered the process of creating statement-making designs.

"What you wear is making a statement about the period of history we live in. Every time [Lee] felt every time an obligation to say what he meant. He felt that he had to have a message - about society, or himself," she says.
