Last week Kim told us that the May cover of Harper's Bazaar Singapore featured Fergie in a blue ruffled Burberry Prorsum dress. Well if you loved the cover look it can be easily achieved if you have a spare £2,250 handy because the striking silk dress is now available in aqua at Net-A-Porter. If the price tag is a little too much, then what about this black ruffled Lanvin silk dress with ruffled around the collar and sleeves? It retails at half the price of the Burberry Prorsum at £1,055. Or you could wait a few weeks and something similar (albeit less dramatic) may pop up at ASOS or Topshop.
British fashion plates, Thandie Newton and Peaches Geldof, have been spotted on both sides of the pond in recent days wearing black lace. Firstly, Newton was snapped at the New York première of Run, Fat Boy, Run in this mini dress from Temperley London's spring '08 collection. Then at Wednesday's première of Shine A Light in London, Peaches Geldof followed it up with a another thigh-skimming lacy number. Fancy trying out this Gothic style for less? Then ASOS.com have a black dress with lace overlay for just £38. Add a waist belt, for a touch of Thandie style!
A few weeks ago we showed you how to get a Fall 2008/09 Proenza Schouler look, but the girls over at WhoWhatWearDaily have found Proenza Schouler's Spring 08 collection so inspiring that they've created this clip to show you how to translate their runway look into a wearable outfit!
Balenciaga's spring 2008 collection, with its stiff and well defined body shapes looked fantastic on the runway; and it looked great on Jennifer Connelly in their advertising campaign. But how does one wear it in real life? After all we usually don't want to expand our hips and wear dresses with stiff sleeves. Well Balenciaga have thought about this problem, and released similar versions of their runway looks in the form of silk dresses, like this one pictured. The high neck and simple shape reminds me a little of a tradition Chinese dress, but the floral print is much more versatile for cocktail party wear and you can pair it with these Topshop Lace-up sling black heels if you want to tone down the Balenciaga gladiator boot look.
Kirsten Dunst stared in Miu Miu's spring 2008 advertising campaign looking every inch the kooky-cool character she is. While some of the puffball skirts in the campaign were rather full and would look more at home at a costume party, you can get the look with similar pieces from the Spring 2008 Miu Miu collection. This Miu Miu Lady Harlequin Top from Net-A-Porter features a similar pattern to the dress Dunst is wearing above, only minus the full skirt and red lace collar. A long tunic top, it can be worn with jeans or alone if you don't mind showing off some leg, and with such a dominant print, you won't have to accessorise too much - but a red ribbon in your hair ala Dunst could be cute. If you buy the dress before Monday, you can make the most of Net-A-Porter's free shipping deal. Just enter FREESHIP when you shop before Monday March 17.
