Easily my favourite collection of A/W 2009 so far, Missoni was a heart-stirring concoction of hip-hop (yep, you read that right), ice princess and Arabian nights, which was packed onto the models literally layer by layer. Woolly leggings, mini skirts, web-knit dresses, silk slips, boxy jackets, floor-trailing cardigans, snoods and arm-warmers - not an inch of skin was left bare and the result was a completely cosy look which is making me (kind of) wish winter would stick around just a little longer...
Angela Missoni made it very clear she was taking the label back to it's knitwear roots - if you were in any doubt after seeing the layered-up models, then you only had to look at the screen playing a video of a knitting loom in the background to get your assurances. The palette of pastel pinks, lavenders, terracotta, peach and blue was so completely romantic and so easy on the eye, I would excuse any show-goers who drifted into a knitwear-filled Arabian desert daydream.
Christopher Kane has collaborated with his mentor, Donatella Versace, on the relaunch of the Versus accessories line. The British designer has designed a capsule collection of handbags, footwear and jewellery, which was unveiled at Milan Fashion Week yesterday. Originally begun by Donatella's late brother, Gianni Versace, in 1989, Kane has referred to his work as "tough and glamour, effervescent and rock 'n' roll."
Christopher Bailey's A/W 2009-10 collection for Burberry Prorsum has got people talking, and not really for the right reasons. As someone on ONTD pointed out, a vast number of pieces from this show have already been seen, as the Pre-Fall collection. Either Bailey was treating pre-fall as a way of previewing of his complete fall collection, or Burberry are cutting corners by showing the same stuff again. Either way, it begs the question, is it worth doing pre-fall and cruise at all if the main shows suffer as a result? This is a gorgeous collection, but its beauty is overshadowed by the fact we've seen a lot of it before.

With Milan Fashion Week shifting things up a gear over the weekend, all eyes were on Miuccia Prada on Sunday in this recession-saturated season. Lots of earthy, rich colours were on offer with her A/W 2009-10 show. In a city-meets-country collection, tailored pieces consisted of leather jackets, velvet coats, rubber waders, knitted cardigans, and plenty of fur. Click play on video above to watch.
Is Just Cavalli the latest fashion week casualty? Roberto Cavalli has reportedly cancelled the label's Milan Fashion Week show, which was scheduled for Thursday. According to WWD, the brand's licensee, Ittierre SpA, filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this month, leaving Cavalli to wait-and-see what happens with his secondary line.
"I have made this decision in order to protect the Just Cavalli image and its clients," he said. "The difficult Ittierre situation leaves me with no guarantee and no certainty that my young line will be as avant-garde as always."
Despite the cancellation of its show, Just Cavalli will produce and release its autumn/winter 2009-10 collection.
It looks like Sasha Baron Cohen has done it again.
Under the alter-ego of "Bruno", a camp Austrian television presenter, the British comedian gatecrashed the Agatha Ruiz de la Prada show during Milan Fashion Week last Friday, climbing onto the catwalk before being apprehended by security.
Baron has been causing all sorts of disruptions during fashion week, trying to blag his way into shows and backstage. The elaborate stunt is for his upcoming film, Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male.
