Sarah Brown recently hosted a reception at 10 Downing Street with the BFC's Harold Tillman to celebrate 25 years of London Fashion Week.
BFC sweetheart Erin O'Connor looked stunning in a sculptural Hannah Marshall dress and smoky makeup. Designer Hannah Marshall accompanied Erin to the event sporting a blazer and Chelsea boots. Guests also included Christopher Kane, Betty Jackson and Christopher Bailey.
This reception was a demonstration of the hard work by Sarah Brown and the BFC in trying to bring designers back to Britain and ensure London Fashion Week remains firmly on the fashion map.
London Fashion Week's schedule is about to get another boost with the return of Amanda Wakeley.
The British designer, who has experienced a tumultuous year, announced that she will show her spring/summer 2010 collection at LFW in September.
"I am delighted to return to the London Fashion Week schedule in September, especially during such an important season," she said. "Through buying back my label, I have confirmed my commitment to the continued development of Amanda Wakeley and showing again in London is a key step forward in that process."

The latest news on the grapevine is that Jeremy Scott (pictured right with Lindsay Lohan) is also joining the London Fashion Week September schedule.
The British Fashion Council is expected to announce the American designer's addition to the line-up later today. So what's the reason?
"He wants to build a following in London after doing so in Paris for the last few seasons. He is also opening a shop," his spokesperson said.
A favourite amongst the club kids, Scott attracted the likes of Beth Ditto, Leigh Lezark and Pixie Geldof to his last show. He is also known to collaborate with Longchamp to design a free bag for those on the FROW - we want!

More London Fashion Week news is trickling in as designers decide whether or not they will join in the event's 25th anniversary next September.
The latest is that Jasmine Di Milo (A/W 2009, pictured far left) will return to show her Spring 2010 after several seasons in Paris. Designer Jasmine Al Fayed has also recently collaborated with charity V-Day. She has designed a special T-shirt (£40) to support the global abolition of violence against women and young girls.
With Giles Deacon a potential no-show, Aquascutum (A/W 2009, pictured near left) is also reportedly forfeiting a show at LFW. The British label announced yesterday that it will not be joining the anniversary celebrations *sob*.

London Fashion Week might seem faraway but we can already hear the rumblings from the fashion industry. The latest addition to the fledgling schedule is Dutch fashion designer Iris Van Herpen who will show as part of Blow Presents, at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
Van Herpen's last collection, 'Mummified' used a palette of neutrals with gold and brass touches and featured details like delicate metal chains, lace leggings and eyelets. She has a way with ruffles, embellishments buckles and lacing which makes us swoon a little and her pieces are firm favourites on our wishlist. A recent graduate from ARTEZ in Arnheim we can't wait to see what she will show this September. Jump through for more images.

The next big name to return to our fair city in September is Jonathan Saunders. And I say, keep 'em coming...
The locally-based designer will join Burberry, Matthew Williamson and Pringle of Scotland in bringing his spring/summer 2010 collection to London Fashion Week. His addition to the line-up forms part of LFW's 25th anniversary celebrations, and we couldn't be happier!
"Where you show is a combination of where you feel creative and where your business is," said Saunders, who normally shows in New York. "London is where I'm based. I have a studio here and it's very close to my heart and I also have a lot of friends who show in London."

The British Fashion Council has announced its next line-up of New Generation designers for the spring/summer 2010 season.
The bi-yearly sponsorship scheme welcomes 17 designers including House of Holland (A/W 2009-10 pictured), Peter Pilotto, Meadham Kirchhoff, Mark Fast, and Mary Katrantzou to its catwalk programme. Also showcasing their collections via a new sponsored presentation programme is Danielle Scutt, Louise Gray, LP.BG and Sykes.
"We hear a lot about how creativity always bubbles up in recessions - and how that's needed to kickstart fashion-energy for the next phase," said Sarah Mower, the BFC's ambassador for emerging talent, said. "Well, London's the place it's happening."
