Fashion East's show this morning thrilled and dazzled onlookers with a cyber-punk themed show set to pounding industrial techno. Models pounded the catwalk in thight-length leather boots as they showed off the garments, which included revealing fishnet tops, skin-tight leather hot pants and trench coats for the boys.
Styling for the show was particularly wild, with dazzling synthetic hair falls, exaggerated trompe l'oeil eye makeup and Dracula-style rounded shades. The design collective behind the show, hailing from London's brick lane has become known for its alternative focus in recent years, and is pushing forward many once underground styles right into the heart of the fashion world.

A very Sherlock Holmes theme came to Somerset House this morning, when DAKS' show hit the runway. Featuring deer-hunter hats, diamond pleats, cable-knit sweater dressers and heavy layering, the Italian designer's collection couldn't have been more quintessentially London.
Fillippo Scuffi, the creative brains behind DAKS' said: ""I think London is a beautiful, elegant city. I love the architecture

It's fair to say that the Aussie design team behind Sass & Bide have had their fair share of ups and downs over the years. Not that you could tell by looking at this collection. Incorporating an Aztec theme, Sass & Bide's A/W 2010 offering was choc-full of sharp, dramatic shapes. From skinny trouser suits to mini body-con dresses, it was a feast for the eyes on a palette of mostly black, white and grey. Embellishments consisted of fur, feathers, and gold detailing.

Supermodels reunited to honour their friend Alexander McQueen at the Fashion for Relief London show last night. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and McQueen muse, Annabelle Neilson, hit the catwalk to pay tribute to the late designer as well as raise funds for Campbell's Haiti charity.
There was plenty of stars including Geri Halliwell, Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh and Dame Shirley Bassey. Drawing a huge round of applause was Denise Van Outen, who was reportedly axed from Andrew Lloyd Webber's new BBC show because she is pregnant. But the biggest cheers were left for newly-engaged David Walliams and Gavin & Stacey star James Corden who decided to stop at the end of the runway for a bit of a snog.

Paul Costelloe's A/W 2010 show was the first to touch down on the London runway this morning, with a collection dominated by dark and Gothic imagery, and a touch of super-heroine chic. Costelloe has presented the opening show for the past five seasons, with collections that often set the tone for the week's events.
Leather, lace and a lot of black were the keynotes of this collection, which featured dramatic, voluminous skirts and jackets over spray-style skinny legwear. These gave much needed form to the otherwise poker straight lines of the garments.

After a week of looking longingly across that pond at the action in New York, we UK dwellers are finally getting a taste of the very latest work to spring from the fertile minds of the world's greatest designers.
The exhibition was officially opened by Sarah Brown this morning, looking exceptionally stylish in a printed Erdem dress. A minute's silence was observed at the ceremony in honour of Lee Alexander McQuen, whose death shocked the world last week; a memorial wall has also been erected at Somerset House for admirers to leave tributes.
Catwalk shows have already begun, with today's highlights including Bora Asku, Sass & Bide and Paul Costelloe. The team at CQ will be bringing you highlights from the shows, straight from catwalk where we'll be blogging from our new teeny tiny Dell Inspiron mini PCs; handbag-sized notebooks that will be becoming our best friends during the coming week.
Next stop: Orla Kiely's presentation
