London Fashion Week A/W 2010: Basso & Brooke

Basso And Brooke Runway - LFW Autumn/Winter 2010

Slithering onto the runway were the reptilian-creations dreamed up by Basso & Brooke. Inspired by recent trips to the Silk Routes of Uzbekistan, Bruno Basso and Christopher Brooke resulted in a patchwork of digital prints combining snakeskin, feather, chain and wood motifs. Draped dresses were layered with caramel-coloured and fur-collared coats, or over clashing print leggings.

Gallery: A look backstage at Carolina Herrera

While we've moved on to live coverage of London Fashion Week, we've still got some excellent tidbits to share from New York, like this gallery of images from the Carolina Herrera Fall 2010 show. A queen of elegance and American fashion, Herrera never disappoints and eveningwear was once again her stunning specialty. Hope you enjoy some of my personal photos from backstage and at the show! I was especially enamored to be in the presence of Karen Elsen and Agyness Deyn.

Also check out the details of the makeup look over on TheBeautyQuest!

London Fashion Week A/W 2010: Marios Schwab - runway video!

Marios Schwab's Austrian heritage was clearly the inspiration behind his A/W 2010-11 collection. Reworking the classic pinafore, Schwab unveiled a series of mute-coloured pieces comprising of white collarless shirts, knit dresses, cropped jackets and bib dresses laced in front with eyelets. Rich colours in plum, dark raspberry, teal and purple gave warmth to his collection, while Schwab once again succeeded at adding a modern twist to the most simplest of items. Watch a video of the show above.

London Fashion Week A/W 2010: Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum Runway - LFW Autumn/Winter 2010

The scene was set for a world first last night. A-listers crammed the front row as Christopher Bailey unveiled his A/W 2010 collection for Burberry Prorsum, which was broadcast live in 3D around the globe. With lots of khaki and military-inspired references, Bailey relied heavily on the classic wool-lined aviator jacket. In contrast, he added brightly-coloured ruched skirts and dresses in fuchsia, electric blue and olive green. Burberry's iconic trench was also given the aviator treatment with oversized shearling collars, matched with thigh-high leather boots and slouchy clutch and basket handbags.

LFW FROW watch: Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Hudson, Kristen Stewart & Claire Danes at Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum Front Row - LFW Autumn/Winter 2010

It was a bumper of a FROW at the Burberry Prorsum A/W 2010 presentation last night. It seems that Christopher Bailey can really pull a celeb crowd these days with (above, from left to right) Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Hudson, Kristen Stewart and Claire Danes all grouped together to watch his show which was broadcast live in 3D (but more on that later!). Other famous faces spotted in the audience included Anna Wintour, Sir Philip Green, Olivia Palermo, Twiggy, and Rachel Zoe. Phew - what a show!

Stay tuned for more runway coverage from Burberry Prorsum's show... coming right up!

London Fashion Week A/W 2010: Christopher Kane

Christopher Kane Runway - LFW Autumn/Winter 2010

Christopher Kane got a little dark with his autumn/winter 2010 collection this week. The Scottish designer cited juvenile delinquents as the influence for his latest creations which were heavy on the black leather and lace. Embroidered flowers covered almost every piece in the line, which seemed to be in sharp contrast to the patent mini dresses and kilts. According to Kane, he wanted the flowers to be "a bit perverse and ironic." Mission accomplished. See more images after the jump...

London Fashion Week A/W 2010: Erdem - watch the show!

We saw Romola Garai rock an Erdem number at the BAFTAs on Sunday night, now here is a look at the label's new autumn 2010-11 collection. The Canadian-born designer took inspiration from his adolescence in Montreal with an English mother and Turkish father. Also with a sister who is working on a documentary about the Artic, Erdem Moralioglu's mind was on the sky and birds. That could explain the bird-print structured shift and shirt dresses. Embroidery, lace and ruffles added a feminine touch, while a beige trench featuring a lambswool hood is now high on my wish list. Watch a video of the show above.
