Psst... Is Thierry Mugler planning a ready-to-wear return to Paris?

thierrymugler_moscow_oct09.jpgWord on the grapevine is that Thierry Mugler is planning a complete ready-to-wear comeback in Paris next year.

While presenting his latest creations, under the creative guidance of Rosemary Rodriguez, in Moscow this week (left), Fashion Week Daily is reporting that it could be a preview of what's to come.

They say: "Mugler has privately set next October as the re-launch date for the ready-to-wear effort - to be shown in Paris - with Rodriguez fully in charge."

Mugler pulled the plug on his couture line in 2003 to focus on his fragrances and designing extraordinary costumes for Beyonce.

His fashion house was revived in 2008 with Rodriguez at the helm, producing menswear and a couple of capsule womenswear collections. Now it looks like it could be full steam ahead for the French designer in Paris come next October.

Katy Perry at Sonia Rykiel, Paris Fashion Week

Katy Perry cut a sultry figure at Sonia Rykiel's show this Paris Fashion Week. The singer has hit the headlines recently thanks to her blossoming relationship with Russell Brand.

Perhaps some of Russell's goth tendencies have rubbed off on Katy as she looked more film noir than her usual colourful retro style. The US songster wore a sequinned shift with a cute satin bib panel with a pair of sharp-looking heels. Katy has jumped on the no-eyebrows bandwagon as popularised by Lara Stone and Karen Elson but it's a look she pulls off surprisingly well.

Milan Fashion Week: Marni Spring Summer 2010

Paris Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow, so here is another show from Milan before we cast our eyes-Francewards. You can count on Marni's mastery of colour and the accessories are always something to write home about.

This season saw them reinvent the Bathing Belle, demure leggings and floaty '20s style tunics looked perfect for a day lazing on sand dunes. Piratical headscarves and jewellery added a touch of whimsy to the collection while short shorts lost their shock power with soft jackets and demure lace shell tops.

Rihanna at Balmain's Paris Fashion Week Show

rihanna balmain paris fashion week.jpg

Rihanna never has a single hair out of place, the 'Umbrella' singer looked her usual impeccable self at the Balmain show this Paris Fashion Week, sporting an ultra-sharp blazer with lethal shoulders.

Rihanna obviously loves the lacy look, as this isn't the first time she's been photographed in something sheer. The lace top adds an evening touch to her mannish jacket, but she reins it all in with those no-nonense sunglasses. Approach with caution!

Milan Fashion Week: Prada Spring Summer 2010

Prada
is one of the few fashion houses who manage to combine creativity with a strong commercial side. The collection seemed to take a business woman's wardrobe and adapt for the beach, perhaps a subtle comment on the recession? This show sees retro images of palm trees and beaches printed onto sculptural jackets and smart bermuda shorts. All the models toted business-like handbags and sported neat ponytails.

The chandelier detailing on dresses and shoes is sure to be a hit with Miuccia fans, and continues her love of extreme embellishment.
