Shiny Fashion Forum Round Up: Catwalk Queen

Header
As always busy busy busy on the Fashion Forums. There has been more chatter about who is wearing what to the Christmas party and may I say there are some splendid outfits being showcased. However, not all outfits are Christmas related, there has been a discussion about the ideal first date outfit as well( ooooh clothes and boys!). The merits of leather jackets have been touched upon, particularly after reading this article on Catwalk Queen. Being shopping experts, everyone has been giving their opinion on their favourite shopping town. Our favourite 'what are you wearing now?' post continues and from what I have seen, you guys are a well-dressed bunch. That is my opinion but apparently others have been commenting on your sense of style too.

If you want to add your two pennies worth regarding any of our current discussions or have a whole new debatable topic, what are you waiting for? Come and join us over at the Shiny Fashion Forums. I am going for a lie down, all this fashion talk has tired me out.

Shiny Fashion Forums: Fashion Talk Dahling

Header_2
Do you want to know what's going on at the Shiny Fashion Forums? Well before I tell you, let me just say 'Tut, tut' and *smack on the hand* for not coming by before.
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, mucho fashion chit chat has been taking place, from helping fellow forumites with outfit suggestions for the all important Christmas party to sharing discounts and promotions and showing off our shiny new purchases. Maybe you've been to Primark lately and want to make us jealous with your fashion bargain finds? After all, how good is that feeling when someone compliments your outfit and you can say 'oh, it's from Primark'. There is also a little fashion quiz that we have been indulging in, take the test and find out who your style twin is and let us know if you agree with the outcome!

Like's Visual Search Engine - Shopping Made Easier!

Like
Ever wanted a search engine that will find you exactly what you're after - even if you don't know what or where it is?  (Not unlike the fabulous girls over at the Shiny Fashion Forums)  Ever seen a pair of shoes, a handbag or jewellery on a celebrity that you loved, but couldn't afford - and you were dying to find something similar in your price range?  (haven't we all?)

Well, our new friends over at What Celebs Wear (featuring our very own Bag Lady this week!) have a fantastic scoop for us!  They've discovered a fabulous new website - Like.com - which has a visual search engine that allows you to search for products based on their appearance!!  Once you find the basic item that you're after (you can pick from stock pictures, celeb photos, or browsing), it searches a range of stores to find visually similar products based on your criteria.  You can then adjust the results by what you most like about an item: Colour, shape or pattern.   Once you've found the item you want - you click on 'Buy', and it'll open another browser window with your pick - ready to add to your shopping cart!

I've already spent an hour playing around on the site, and I must say - I'm quite impressed - and given that most of my shopping these days is online, that's no mean feat!  Unfortunately, the site is US-based, so most of the shops are American; but fortunately, several ship internationally!

You can learn more about this service at the Like blog, or learn how to use the visual search engine before you give the site a go!  My only hope is that they'll add apparel to the search, and sooner than later! Let us know what you think!

BAFAB Week At Trashionista

How_to_be_a_budget_fashionista_1 Here at Catwalk Queen, we love books almost as much as we love fashion, which is why we're spending an inordinate amount of online time over at Trashionista this week. In honour of BAFAB week (that's Buy a Friend a Book in case you were wondering) Trashionista is having a week long party. There's book giveaways (including How to be a Budget Fashionista written by fellow blogger Kathryn Finney), guest blogs by some of the best chick lit authors around, and of course, recommendations on what books to gift to your mates. I'm assuming my book is in the post, eh Trashionista girls?
