It's rare that I see a collection off the catwalk and think it looks more appealing than it did when it was shown on the models. But that seems to have happened with Christopher Kane's delicate, scalloped Spring / Summer pieces. On the catwalk, I thought they were pretty and unusual, but I didn't think they were his best work, and I wasn't sure they'd translate well to real life. But having seen the dress on the right emblazoned across Net a Porter's homepage, I actually oohed out loud. It look amazing. And when I checked out the full range available on the site, those oohs continued. What a refreshing change from Herve Leger bandage dresses and little strapless numbers in jewel colours. Here's hoping a brave celeb picks one of these up soon...because I know I can't stretch to upwards of £2,600 right now!
It's no shocker that florals are always great for spring, and this dress from New Look is a great example of this.
With a bit of a 50's feel, it flatters your figure by nipping you in at the waist and then flaring out a little. And how cute is the collar? I can't resist dresses whatsoever, and with this coming in at £25, I can imagine picnics in the park, feeding the ducks and all that good stuff. Having already sold out in size 6 online, you'd better get your skates on to grab it while you still can. Ultra feminine, it is sure to put a spring in your step!
With her frocks selling like hotcakes at the moment, it's not surprising that the stars are jumping on the Victoria Beckham dVb bandwagon right now. Heidi Klum stepped out to promote Victoria's Secret's The Perfect One Bra on Monday in a black version of Beckham's form-fitting V-cut dress. Meanwhile, the designer herself wore a red version during the Fendi party in Milan. So who do you think has this look in the bag? Vote below.
We already know how much Gwyneth Paltrow *hearts* Preen (cue the Power dress phenomenon) but now the actress has one more reason to love the British brand. According to Grazia, Gwynnie along with two other major celebs have scrambled to place their orders from Preen's new A/W 2009-10 collection. Following its debut at New York Fashion Week last week, Gwyneth immediately ordered a metallic cut-out dress, Kate Bosworth the Rainbow Bright dress (above, left), while Erin Wasson has reportedly requested the black slashed leather dress (above, right). Ah... to be rich and oh-so important.
A while back we gave you a sneaky peek at the new younger fashion range from Matalan, Be Beau. We were taken by the affordable floral dresses and nautical looks that were a spot-on Dolce & Gabbana reinterpretation, so we're very happy to see the items online and available to buy right now. The dresses you see above are all £20 - £22 which I think you'll agree is a pretty good bargain. Make sure you look at the shoes too, Matalan footwear is one of my big fashion secrets!
