Here are five great party frocks that you can find on the high street and won't break the bank at the same time. So, take a squiz and see what you fancy. More after the jump...

Still hunting for the perfect party dress to wear this festive season? Then you may want to take a glance at Roland Mouret's limited edition dress collection for Net-a-porter.com. Aptly named, the 'Rainbow Project', the collection features an array of party frocks in a burst of different colours. Subtle glamour is the key - and not a little black dress in sight! But be warned, prices aren't cheap. Ranging from £850 and £1700, what else can you expect when two of the pieces (a cream and a navy dress) starred in Mouret's spring/summer 2010 show in Paris.

Celebrities and the high street have come together once again for a good cause. Kelly Rowland, Pixie Lott, Alesha Dixon and boy band Kid British have joined forces with River Island to promote their exclusive range of T's to support youth charity, The Prince's Trust. The 'River Island Presents...T's for The Trust' includes three T-dresses for women and four men's t-shirts, each featuring distinctive designs that are a collaborative effort between the celebs and River Island's top young designers.

Adding another celebrity fan to her growing client base is Victoria Beckham. The former Spice Girl's designs have broken through to the red carpet of Hollywood after Drew Barrymore wore one of her A/W 2009 dresses to the première of Everybody's Fine. The purple figure-hugging Giral dress has already been worn by Victoria Beckham and Katherine Jenkins, but still managed to shine on Drew who added her own touch of a silver pin. A black version of the same dress has also been worn by Elle Macpherson. Like it? There is a similar style still available on Net-a-Porter. That's if you have a handy £1,195 to spend.

For the festive season it's all about the frocks at Peacocks. And the budget retailer has enlisted the help of Pearl Lowe to design its new range and her daughter Daisy to model it. Talk about a fash-family combo! While we're used to seeing Daisy modelling for labels such as Marc Jacobs, it's on the high street in her mum's Christmas collection that she'll soon be recognised the most. Lucky for her there isn't a reindeer jumper in sight!

Summery but substantial this French Connection dress (£150) will easily take you from the office to your Friday night out no problem. The pale colour is a great nod to the nude/fleshtone look and the embellishments are bang on trend.
It's a simple shift shape but the embellishment adds enough interest to make it work for the evening. A velvety black pair of tights will work just fine, but for something a bit special try a sheer black polka dotted pair. The length means you can also pair it with a pair of 7/8ths trousers, pumps and a beat-up denim jacket for a more rough and ready take on gallic chic.
