While I'm feeling all nostalgic, I've dug up this gem of a scene from When Harry Met Sally. It couldn't be more Hollywood - a couple of long-time friends Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) reunite just at the clock counts down to the new year. With Harry Connick Jr's "It Had To Be You" crooning in the background, Harry declares his love for Sally in what is arguably the best New Year's Eve film scene of all time. You must watch it if only for Meg Ryan's frizzy '80s perm and prom dress style. Aw...
After a brief court battle, it appears as though Stella McCartney is allowed to keep the word 'nude' for her new fragrance, StellaNude. In August, a court ruled in favour of McCartney after Bono's wife Ali Hewson tried to stop her from using the word as it conflicted with her Nude Brands Ltd company. Now, you can check out some behind-the-scenes footage of the fragrance ad, which features music from Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders.
Truth be told I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas carols. Of course I'm no Scrooge, I like the odd bit of "Jingle Bells" and you may even catch me humming along to "Winter Wonderland," but on the whole they're not my favourite. I blame all those earlier years working in retail - oh how they torture you with carols on repeat. Having said that, I am rather partial to Bon Jovi's 1992 rendition of "Please Come Home for Christmas". Strictly speaking it isn't a carol, but then it does star the yummy man himself rolling around the Christmas tree with Cindy Crawford. Need something to get you in the festive mood? This will do it!
IT'S HERRRRE! Strap yourselves in ladies because here is your first look at Sex and the City 2. Yes, it's only brief but consider this an early Christmas present from Carrie and the girls. We can't wait to hear what you think of the trailer. So sit back and enjoy!
P.S. Is that a camel and a turban that I see? OMFG! Don't forget to leave your comments below.
As we recently blogged, Christina Ricci has starred in a new short film for Donna Karan titled Four Play. Ricci plays four different personalities in the web-only videos, which were directed by Sting's son, Jake Sumner.
"I didn't want it to feel like advertising. I wanted it to feel like something that could be viewed in itself, but using the aesthetic of Donna Karan. There's a thin line between very unsubtle advertising and doing something that stands alone and has its integrity," he said. Video two can be viewed after the jump...
Karl Lagerfeld has jumped behind the camera again for Chanel's pre-spring/summer collection. We saw a preview in July this year when Lara Stone and Baptiste Giabiconi were spotted posing with a motorbike in front of the Paris Chanel boutique.
In this short film called Vol de Jour, Lara and Baptiste run around Paris to visit each Chanel store, trying on pieces from the collection before throwing what they want into a nearby getaway car. Hmm... I wonder if they are responsible for all those fashion store robberies over the last past years.
Hot on the heels of his Australian book tour (and rumours that he's planning a clothing line and TV show) comes this video of The Sartorialist at work with Burberry. Scott Schuman recently teamed up with the British heritage label's new social networking site, Artofthetrench.com, to shoot a series of street style snaps of everyday folks rocking out their trenches. Here Scott talks about what it was like to work on the project all over the world.
