We were blown away by the size of our third shop, Ryan Vintage. There were racks and racks of clothes from floor to ceiling and a multitude of shoes all at reasonable prices. I spoke to Nick who told me a little about the shop and some of their bestsellers.
To start off we both tried on '80s ballgowns, Orla's was a reasonable £15 while mine was an even better £12, perfect for a fancy dress party. More wearable outfits + shop pics after the jump.
It was a first time in Retro Rehab for Orla and I and we had a great time. Masses and masses of perfect vintage and second-hand frocks lined the wall on the right, while the middle racks were filled with gorgeous remade dresses. They also have a fine selection of vintage jewellery and the prices are pretty good. Earrings were 2 for a fiver while vintage clothing ranged from under a tenner to £30 for premium pieces which is pretty bargainous for a one-off.
First stop is Rockers, where owner Cathy kindly chatted to us about her love for all things '50s and Rockabilly. See after the jump for images of me and Orla twirling around in repro frocks!
Trying to cram all of what London has to offer into one shopping trip is impossible, so for this shop we decided to explore an area that’s both a haven for tourists and a must-stop for locals. Covent Garden has a mix of boutiques, retro stores and high street names. It’s the perfect place for a lunchtime shop or a lazy afternoon, which suits us just fine. It also happens to be just around the corner from Shiny Towers, meaning this time we’ve been able to use the Sony Vaio from the comfort of our swish ‘sofa area’. Thank heavens for Wi-fi…
Still on Drury Lane, we thought the accessories at Wow Retro deserved a post of their own, since there are so many amazing finds. If you like old shoes, funky worn-in boots and 80s clutches, this place will be your nirvana. The shop is a treasure trove of pretty accessories and quirky bits and bobs...
Covent Garden is full of great vintage destinations, but Wow Retro’s Drury Lane shop is one of our favourites, not just because it’s two minutes away from the office – meaning we walk past it every day – but also because of how spacious it is compared to some of the others.
Neal Street is a shoe lover’s mecca, lined with big names like Office and Shellys as well as newer, funkier labels like Vagabond, Offspring, The Vegetarian Shoe Store and Terra Plana, where we stopped by for a bit of a tour....
