Here is our amazing Berlin video round-up which includes a lovely intro from Sam, and in-store segments at Ohne Frage Toll, designer shopping mall Quartier 206 and our final shops, Colours. Stick around for the full Colours review.
As owner Marita told most people find Ohne Frage Toll --the Aladdin's Cave of vintage in Berlin-- completely by accident, which is how I found it one afternoon cycling around looking for the Mauer Park fleamarket.
A small unassuming Comme des Garçons store south of the Prenzlauer Berg area of Berlin Lil Shop is a feast for the eyes, with cabinets full of accessories in mouthwatering colours and a great selections of men's and women's clothing. As you'd expect there's a lot of Comme des Garcons stuff in the shop including some lovely brogues that I obviously wanted to buy as soon as I saw them but there were also some gorgeous charm bracelets and colourful leather bags. I tried on a cosy navy coat by Comme des Garçons with Victorian-style black ruffles in the hood. See after the jump for more images
This week's CQ liveshop is from Manchester where I met up with Catwalk Queen writer Orla for a fashion fix. With a Sony Vaio laptop and steaming mug of peppermint tea we planned our attack on Manchester's finest shops. Orla and I are both retro aficionados so expect to see a beautiful mix of vintage and independent designer items. Keep checking back to see our progress, the picture on the left is me in our first shop, Rockers.
Last stop was Unique Boutique, situated in the Triangle Shopping Centre it's a haven for quirky designer finds. This is the place to go if you've got a bit of cash to spend and you care more about the garment than the label. I spoke to owner Maria who talked me through the wide variety of labels she sources from across the world. See after the jump for images of the store and the clothes we tried on.
While Iso continues to hunt out retro bargains in Manchester, I grab gadget Susi to have a bit of a closer look at the Sony Vaio CR that we've been using to write our live reports...
After a late lunch we packed up the Sony Vaio headed to Pop Boutique which has always been a dream destination for me; it's a vintage mecca from way back. When we were in there Pulp's "Common People" came on and I was transported back to my late teens, when Pop Boutique cords were all I wore. As well as a great selection of new and secondhand clothes Pop also stock amazing vintage homewares and even have a café downstairs!
