CQ Live Bicester Village: Burberry

burbs2.jpg

Following a stream of Japanese tourists (Bicester is full of them!) I suggested a trip to ‘Burbs’ for a laugh. Little did we know we’d end up falling head over heels for an absolutely fabulous silver coat covered in huge stones. Instantly recognisable from the catwalk, it was beautiful but at well over £500 even with the discount – and with stones falling off – it was one to admire from afar.

CQ Live Bicester Village: French Connection

fconn1.jpg

After lunch at a pub around the corner (Bicester Village's food establishments stretch to Starbucks, Pret and a very busy Carluccios) we headed back the the shops for round two. French Connection’s outlet store was full of bargains from last Winter, and we were surprised to see the hugely popular sequin striped ‘Serpent’ dress in navy and bronze down to £80. It was a huge celeb favourite and a big seller during the party season, but it seems the appeal has been lost now.

CQ Live Bicester Village: LK Bennett

lkben1.jpg

We were wooed into LK Bennett by the big £10 signs on the shelves closest to the door. Talk about clever marketing! Unfortunately, the majority of these dirt-cheap shoes were, um, a bit dirty. Obviously the last few pairs from sale periods, or the in-store display shoes (thus faded from the original colour) they tended to be a bit worse for wear. Press samples and other random pairs were also on sale for £20, but the best bargains were the old sale shoes and end-of-line designs that were selling for the £30 - £100 mark.

CQ Live Bicester Village: Paul Smith

psmith1.jpg

The front of the fab Paul Smith store is full of menswear, but find your way to the back and it’s a gorgeously decorated girly paradise, complete with a big sofa, a pink dressing room and a table full of the most fabulous frivolous shoes you could ever wish for.

CQ Live Bicester Village: Coast

coast.jpg

First stop for us was Coast, that staple for overpriced evening classics and feminine separates. Prices – and discounts – varied depending on how old the stock was. We were - of course - seduced by the drastic discounts on old Summer stock. While the green dress I tried (£39) was way too small (I need to know when to say no to cake…) I did fall for a pleated babydoll (£45) that would have been perfect for the wedding I’m attending next year. However, I resisted temptation as I know I’ll see hundreds of other dresses between now and May, and because white is so impractical. Isabelle, meanwhile, tried a £19.50 white broiderie anglaise shell top that looked cute but came up very small.

isoberlin.jpgAs you can see from the picture of me stood under a massive flag this week's Catwalk Queen liveshop is coming to you from Berlin. The German capital doesn't usually come high on lists of fashion destinations, but with the German's quirky sense of style, a huge backlog of vintage clothes from Communist times and unique designer boutiques you can't help but dig out some great fashion finds. Sony Vaio at the ready I'm full of anticipation for all these shops I've never been to and I've got a heap of Euros burning a hole in my pocket!

CQ Live in Berlin: Colours

colours1.jpg
As if the vintage couldn't get any better Colours which is literally the size of a supermarket has a very tempting offer of clothes by the kilo. After spending two hours going through the racks Sam and I took our heaping handfuls of vintage booty to the changing rooms and went through the long process of filtering the wheat from the chaff. See after the jump to find out what I bought and see images of me and Sam being morons.
