Alexa Chung turns her lens to new photography initiative

Adding to her list of many and varied talents, Alexa Chung the 'accomplished photographer' is turning her attentions to a new photography initiative.

In conjunction with Ctrl.Alt.Shift, a youth-orientated website and Vice magazine, Chung will act as one of five mentors to entrants in the 'Gender, Power and Poverty' photography competition. The winner will see his or her work featured in both publications, as well as displayed in the Association of Photographers gallery in London early next year. They will also score £1,000 in cold hard cash.

Chung's own work will be also be exhibited, as well as pieces from the competition's ambassador, Nan Goldin. To submit your entries before 24th November, check out ctrlaltshift.co.uk and viceland.com.

Competition News - our Mulberry handbag winner!

We asked you all the spread the word about the Handbag Amnesty, a great charity initiative in conjunction with Cancer Research UK. We were really touched that Tracy was willing to blog about the campaign despite being so far away from the UK. Calling all designers! Uniqlo's UT Grand Prix 2009 has begun

utgrandprix_2008.jpgUniqlo's annual UT Grand Prix competition is about to kick off again, beginning with a shout-out to designers to submit their most creative T-shirt graphics.

From the burgeoning talent that they are hoping to attract, one winner will receive £15,000 in prize money, and the opportunity to have their print sold in Uniqlo stores around the world. Eight runners-up will each be awarded £1000.
