Am I really only at #35? I seem to have looked at every party dress going, but the good news for me is they're quickly being reduced in the run-up to Christmas (see, the credit crunch does have a good side, eek!). Today's first crop of frocks all come from Warehouse, where partywear has been slashed by a massive 50% from today. That makes these three dresses £35, £35 and £20 respectively. I'm pretty sure this is the same fabric used in Marks and Spencers' Patricia Field-designed Sex & The City number. But without the puffball shape and short-sleeved, it's slightly less obvious as a Carrie copy, making it a better choice if you don't want to be branded a copycat.
It's by Principles, and is down from £89 to £41.30 in Debenhams' sale (have I mentioned how much this new 2.5% VAT cut is baffling me when it comes to prices?) it swoops happily into the 100 Cheap Christmas Party Dresses feature at #32. Not that they're in any particular order, of course...

The next dress in our Cheap Party Dresses feature is especially for the many retro fans I know we have visiting the site. One of my favourite places to go for reproduction vintage dresses, Vivien of Holloway, is currently selling off various floral styles for only £39. That's a really good price considering these dresses are boned and lined at the top (I don't even have to wear a bra with mine). The brand is a much-loved favourite of many burlesque performers, rockabilly girls and retro fans, and they rarely drop the prices of their frocks, so now is definitely the time to invest. Just add a belt,a petticoat and some red lipstick for full-on retro chic.
They're going fast, so shop now to avoid disappointment if you want one!

Lace dresses, mostly thanks to designers like Balmain, Chanel and Prada and celeb fans like Natalie Portman, Selma Blair, Thandie Newton and Peaches Geldof, are everywhere at the moment...so obviously I was bound to include a few in the 100 Party Dresses feature. Here are today's top frocks, all for under fifty squids...

Florals are usually associated with Christmas, but we've been enjoying a year full of pretty, flower-strewn dresses, and no doubt plenty of people will continue to wear their girly frocks well into the party season. If you've still not got a floral dress, here are nine very lovely ones for you, starting at £15...

As I hit the twentieth cheap party dress, I thought it only fitting to pick a dress for less than £20. Or two dresses for less than £20, to be precise. Just because your budget is super-tight doesn't mean you can't wear something special at Christmas. George at Asda have loads of dresses for under £20 and the corsage detail taffeta one above is a really pretty choice for a posh party. If you want something a bit more fashion-forward, try Primark's purple one-shouldered number. It's a staggering £12. Bargain!

Today's first crop of party dresses are a trio of bright blue numbers. This shade is a current CQ favourite, in fact yesterday both Isabelle and I rocked up to work in blue, black and brogues, oops! The colour is great for parties, it's eye-catching, almost universally flattering, and looks good with most other colours. Click through for product info...
