The stars were out in full force overnight for the 2009 American Music Awards. From some of Hollywood's youngest stars to the seasoned professionals, it was a celeb-fest for anyone that was lucky enough to get close to the red carpet. Nicole Kidman accompanied hubby Keith Urban in a floor-length asymmetrical Balenciaga gown which featured sheer panelling. There was a little bit of leg on show thanks to Shakira's yellow number and Leona Lewis's dramatic shiny black frock (not sure if I'm loving the pointy bra section). Meanwhile, Rihanna turned heads in a black and white laser-cut dress by Marchesa and bringing the feminine touch was Carrie Underwood, sporting a new curled bob. Talk about superwoman! This time the rumours were true *faint*. Heidi Klum made a surprise appearance on the runway at last night's annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The German supermodel wowed the audience as she took to the catwalk just six weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, Lou Samuel.
Despite feeling a little unwell before the show, Australia's Abbey Lee Kershaw left a wonderful impression on the runway with Jak and Jil Blog claiming hers the "best runway presence" of the night. British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made her VS debut also helping to close the show, before the rest of the models including Chanel Iman, Doutzen Kroes and Miranda Kerr reappeared on stage for finale and a bit of a boogie. Featuring five different sections with 12 outfits each, live performances were provided by Black Eyed Peas, with Fergie bringing down the house in an emerald green ensemble. Some are loving it and some are despising it. So who better to ask than you guys! Sharon Stone made quite the entrance at the Elton John AIDS Foundation's "An Enduring Vision" benefit in New York City on Monday. The actress threw the fashion rule book away by fronting up in a sheer black lace fishtail Christian Dior couture gown which she matched with a black leather trench, long gloves and a fedora hat. Perhaps she was going for the gangster-meets-cabaret singer look? But was it brilliant and ballsy or bizarre and a complete balls-up? Tell us by voting in our Yay or Nay poll below. [Image: PicApp]
The setting (a car park) may have been a bit unusual but for Dame Vivienne Westwood it was ideal. The British icon chose the Selfridges car park to present her Anglomania spring/summer 2010 collection to buyers, press and a few celebs Monday night. Starring Daisy Lowe (above, left) on the catwalk, with a face full of sparkly rhinestones (true!) Westwood unveiled a colourful collection dotted with her usual quirk and political undertones.
It was the night many of Twilight's American fans had been longing for - on par with being devoured by Rob Pattinson I'm sure. The red carpet was rolled out in Los Angeles for the US premiere of New Moon last night. Drawing thousands, mostly screaming young girls, and a list of Hollywood stars, it wasn't the boyss but rather the girls who stole the show.
Kristen Stewart took the opportunity to reveal a more feminine side with a floor-length strapless tulle Oscar de la Renta gown. It was a refreshing look for the 19-year-old who was once again a little let down in the hair department. It seems that Joan Jett haircut is posing a few problems for Kristen when it comes to frocking up. I wonder if she took this up with Joan, who was also in attendance at the premiere.
The scene was verging on hysteria overnight at the London premiere of the next Twilight installment, New Moon. Die-hard fans poured onto Battersea Park in their thousands to catch a glimpse of the are-they-aren't-they-lovers Kristen Stewart and a scruffy Robert Pattinson.
Adding another celebrity fan to her growing client base is Victoria Beckham. The former Spice Girl's designs have broken through to the red carpet of Hollywood after Drew Barrymore wore one of her A/W 2009 dresses to the première of Everybody's Fine. The purple figure-hugging Giral dress has already been worn by Victoria Beckham and Katherine Jenkins, but still managed to shine on Drew who added her own touch of a silver pin. A black version of the same dress has also been worn by Elle Macpherson. Like it? There is a similar style still available on Net-a-Porter. That's if you have a handy £1,195 to spend.
