The light bulbs were flashing overtime last night for Madonna and Sharon Stone at the première of the documentary I Am Because We Are. The queen of pop wowed on the red carpet in this black and silver spangly gown from Chanel's couture spring '07 collection. While Sharon also looked smashing in a full length black halter neck dress with sequinned detailing. The documentary, which examines the plight of Malawi AIDS orphans, was written, narrated and produced by Madonna. Click play to watch footage of the pair on the red carpet in Cannes.
Hot off the catwalk from the Chanel cruise S/S '09 show in Miami last Thursday was Gwyneth Paltrow's Cannes red carpet dress. The actress, who is currently featured in a spectacular fashion shoot for V magazine, was joined by Valentino at the première of Two Lovers yesterday. The mother-of-two has been ripping up the celeb circuit lately in her designer duds, and continued to turn heads in this navy and black satin number with plunging bow neckline. I wonder what Valentino really thought of Gwynnie's Chanel dress...
One of the most anticipated film premières of 2008 (next to SATC: the movie) is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Fans have waited two decades for another installment from Harrison Ford and co., and when the film opened at Cannes over the weekend it attracted a bevy of A-listers.
Using her moment at Cannes to show off two stunning outfits, Eva Longoria traipsed the red carpet for the première of Blindness yesterday in a turquoise blue gown from Versace's couture spring '08 collection. Later, the actress changed into a sparkly mini dress for the opening ceremony dinner, held at the Palais des Festivals. Practical yet stylish, that's what I like to see!
Not to be outdone by their peers, Mischa Barton and Natalie Portman also made their grand entrances at yesterday's Cannes Film Festival. At the première of Blindness, the young actresses who are in Cannes for separate film projects, brought a touch of youthful elegance to the beginning of the festival.
Day one of Cannes Film Festival and the red carpet for the premiere of Blindness was choc-o-bloc full of celebs. Leading the pack were two of my favourite actresses Julianne Moore and Cate Blanchett. Both ladies dominated the glittery event in designer gowns that would leave anyone drooling.
