It was crunch time over the weekend for Lily Cole as she faced the critics for her role in the film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Lily attended the premiere for the film last Friday alongside director Terry Gilliam and models Natasha Poly, Peaches Geldof and Noemie Lenoir. Dressed in stunning pale blue Chanel couture gown, Lily spoke of what it was like to work with Heath Ledger's replacements, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell: "You're mourning somebody but at the same time you're immediately going back to work. It's such an unusual environment where you're presented with actors who are playing reminders of that character and that person."

Rounding off a week of film premières, celebrity soirées, and lounging on yachts in Cannes was the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Benefit. Hosted this year by Kenneth Cole, it proved to be yet another big hit in raising money for AIDS charities. The event auctioned off lucrative items such as a one-of-a-kind photograph by Steven Meisel of Madonna from the Louis Vuitton campaign, which fetched €30,000. Two bidders also paid €20,000 each to have a rather embarrassed Robert Pattinson kiss their daughters - lucky girls! As for the red carpet fashion, well we've got that covered. Forget the TV show, Paris Hilton looks set to have found a new BFF in the form of Peaches Geldof.
The notorious tabloid twosome bumped into each other at Penelope Cruz's party in Cannes this week where Paris reportedly asked Peaches to model her new range of hair jewellery in Britain.
"Peaches is such a sweetie. I can't wait to bring my bling to London where she'll be just perfect to model it with me," she told the Mirror, after they swapped phone numbers.
I don't know about you, but I'm getting a bit fed up of seeing Paris and her 'hair jewellery' all over Cannes. That and her other accessory - Doug Reinhardt.

It was a night for major A-listers as Diane Kruger, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took on Cannes for the première of Quentin Tarantino's Nazi-flick Inglourious Basterds. All eyes were on Ang and Brad while they worked the red carpet for the cameras. Angelina showed off her penchant for draping in a nude-coloured one-sleeved chiffon Versace dress - at least it wasn't black for once! Diane, sans her spunky boyfriend Joshua Jackson (boo!) also lit up the French Riviera in a white Marchesa gown embossed with silver roses - at least it wasn't Chanel! Cannes Film Festival was swarming with fresh faces yesterday, as Lily Cole, Peaches Geldof and Paris Hilton landed in the French Riviera hotspot. I'm still not sure why exactly Peaches and Paris were there, however we all know why Lily is in town. The flame-haired model is in Cannes to promote her new film, The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus, also starring the late Heath Ledger. All three ladies attended Penelope Cruz's dominoes party held at a giant villa, where they sipped vodka cocktails and were entertained by a jazz band. Lily showed off her incredible legs in a flapper-style Alberta Ferretti frock, while Peaches made a couple of outfit changes throughout the evening including a ruby satin strapless dress by Dolce & Gabbana.

On either side of the globe, mega-stars Hilary Swank and Renee Zellweger were delighting crowds with their show-stopping style. Silver was the shade of choice for both ladies as they waved for the cameras. At Cannes, Hilary sashayed down the red carpet in a gunmetal silver asymmetrical layered satin gown, Chopard necklace and Sergio Rossi heels. While in New York, at the Annual American Ballet Spring Gala, Renee Zellweger turned heads in a silver jacquard strapless gown by Carolina Herrera with bejewelled gathered skirt. The models have landed at Cannes, with Eva Herzigova and Doutzen Kroes making the red carpet rounds yesterday for the première of the football film, Looking For Eric. Adding a touch of sparkle to the occasion was Eva, dressed in a stunning mother-of-pearl gown by from Atelier Versace's spring '09 collection. Funnily enough, Donatella Versace wore the same dress just nine days ago to a White House event. In the meantime, Doutzen gave Azzedine Alaia a much needed boost by wearing one of his grey belted dresses with a pair of Alaia lace-up shoe boots.
