Last night, Katie (our Editorial Director) and I headed to Crystal Palace for 'We Hart Vintage', a vintage fashion event hosted by reviews site Qype and independent shopping site Unchained Guide.
The whole thing took place at Vintage Hart, a small but perfectly formed vintage store nestled in the back of the White Hart pub. The event was basically an informal introduction to vintage fashion, allowing newbies and devotees alike the chance to try on some beautiful coats, dresses and accessories, and get tips on how to buy vintage. There were cupcakes and champers aplenty, vintage tunes on the gramophone, gorgeous clothes to buy (or in my case, stare longingly at) and loads of interesting people to chat to. See under the cut for more pics.

We had a very special visitor at Shiny Towers today. One of our favourite fashion bloggers, Selina from Flying Saucers, was in town to interview Gok Wan and attend the Spectacle Wearer of the Year awards, but she took a bit of time out of her day to pop in, allow us to coo over her gorge sailor dress and new Reiss coat, and chat about blogging, style and what geeks the CQ team are.
It's always great fun to meet the bloggers we read about every day, especially when they're so passionate about what they do. If you're not a fan of Selina's blog already, you should definitely take a look.
We're hoping in the future to be able to organise some events for everyone involved in spreading the world of style across the web. Until then, remember if you're ever in London and you want to see where the, um, 'magic' happens, we love visitors to Shiny Towers!

Have you ever been to a sample sale? If you have, the queue above will be no surprise to you. These supposedly 'secret' events are never quite as quiet and exclusive as they claim (rule of thumb - if you know about it, so does everyone else) and even seasoned shoppers like Team CQ tend to forget that lunchtime is not the best time to go hunting for cheap shoes...

Sorry we've been a bit lazy about snapping our fashion week outfits this season. This is mainly because we've been so busy bringing you stuff from the shows that we haven't had time. We've also all come down with the dreaded Fashion Week Flu (yes, it exists) so I spent yesterday in bed, Kelly's off today and Isabelle is coughing up a storm and will probably be the next (wo)man down. You've gotta love London!

Usually when team CQ hit London Fashion Week, we're part of the usual scrum of press, students, buyers and blaggers trying to get the best seats in the house. Today, however, I was lucky enough to be a guest of LFW sponsors Canon, which meant VIP treatment, reserved seats (proper reserved seats, not 'here's your seat number, get there early and you might be three rows behind it if you're lucky' reserved seats) and access to all the areas that are usually out of bounds. More on that later, but in the meantime I thought you lot might be interested to see the new LFW tote bag, and all the stuff I was given to put in it. Note the Moet remains unopened...but it's only a matter of time before I cave.

I've been here before so no introductions needed - well I should hope not anyway - but it's always and pleasure to come in to see the Shiny faces at Shiny Towers.
Another week draws to a close and all in all it's been a mix of quiet panic about the upcoming photo shoot for Catwalk Queen and quiet blogging due to a pre-London Fashion Week lull.
