The Clothes Show London this year has an array of things to draw you in; a beach, the Rimmel stand - basically a big pink teenage girls heaven - and as always, bargains galore. I went along to see what it was like. Read on for my diary.
We're thrilled to bits that comments are back on Catwalk Queen! After what seems like an eternity without the chance to hear your opinions we can finally hear your thoughts on celeb style, trends, outfit picks and galleries.
We love to know what you're thinking, so have your say and leave a comment!
Eagle-eyed readers will have spotted a few changes at Catwalk Queen in recent weeks. With a hanky dabbing at our eyes we waved goodbye to Gemma, not without giving her a survival bag for the new office which included Baptiste dry shampoo and Diet Coke (just the essentials!)
Following Gemma's move onto new projects, I've stepped into her shoes as Editor of CQ and I am thrilled to take the helm. You might have noticed comments are down, we're working on sorting this out very soon and we've got some even more exciting developments for the site in the pipeline!
In the meantime, if you want to get in touch and have a chat about fashion or ask me to track down a must-have piece just drop me an email at isabelle@shinymedia.com. You can also follow Catwalk Queen on twitter, as well as me (IsabelleOC) to keep up with all the CQ goings on and the latest gossip.
Zara and I headed to Knightsbridge to pore over the delights of the Harvey Nichols Press Day, looking at some gorgeous pieces including the 3D sequin dress by Marios Schwab, and some beautifully embellished Matthew Williamson frocks. Watch the video above to take a sneak peek at the luxe accessories and shoes.
Last week I was lucky enough to be given a massive treat by the fab folks at TK Maxx. Together with the lovely Anna from The Style Diet, I headed to the High Street Kensington flagship branch of the store to pick out an outfit, then over to east London for a photo shoot.
TK Maxx have massive deliveries of dresses and formalwear hitting their stores at the moment, and they wanted to give some fashion video bloggers the chance to see them and try them on, and get some glam photos into the bargain. Both Anna and I shot loads of video on the day, which you can see below the jump, but I'm most excited about the photos, which allowed me to play the retro pin-up for the afternoon (you can imagine how much I enjoyed that)...
Some of our favourite fashion bloggers (like Camille, Jane, Karla and co) have been doing Q & A posts recently, letting their readers ask them absolutely anything.
Now, we're all for a good blogger trend, and I haven't done this since about 2001, before CQ became fashionfashionallthetime so we thought it'd be good to jump on the bandwagon. If there's anything you've ever wanted to know about Catwalk Queen or about any of the current writers (Gemma, Kim, Isabelle and Kelly - that's us being morons above) now is the time to ask. Leave your question in the comments or drop me a line by email and we'll do our best to answer everything next week.
Looking at Summer stuff in November should be depressing, but to be honest, it's a nice change not to be looking at party dresses, party dresses and more party dresses. That's why this season we've thrown ourselves headfirst into the press day madness. All the big brands have had their Spring / Summer previews over the last couple of weeks, so the CQ girls have been treated to sneaky peeks of everything from the latest shoes from Kickers to New Look's bargain take on Balmain (purple, ruffly, very Gemma Arterton).
And what do we have to report? Well, you'd better start developing a taste for stonewashed denim, because it's back. Along with the rest of the 80s and 90s. ARGH!
