London Fashion Week ended on a high this evening with PPQ at Somerset House. The designer double act, consisting of Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker, are known for their glamorous girl retro inspired aesthetic and bold use of colour and it was no different for Spring / Summer 2014.

Established as somewhat of a trademark for the designer label, it was no surprise to see prom inspired shapes hit the catwalk. In various forms, think dropped waist peplum skirts, exaggerated graduated hem lines and structured off the shoulder necklines, there appeared to be no rules when it came to colour as a multitude of shades took form in yellow, pink, red and blue. These were contrasted with black sheer details in underskirts and details.

Furthering their retro aesthetic but moving away from the prom theme and more to 1950's beach wear, one of my favourite looks had to be a matching high waisted trouser and ruffled crop top which came in a multi coloured tropical print and was finished off with mirrored cats eye sunglasses.

For those party girls who love this brand and can't get enough of their eighties aesthetic, perhaps the newy re-formed Sugababes or Ellie Goulding who were sat in the front row, Spring / Summer 2014 at PPQ didn't fail to deliver. Having recently launched their online offering and with a strong collection seen today at London Fashion Week, we'd say this duo are ones to look out for.
