It took all summer, but since being shocked and appalled by rumors in March that Kate Moss would be posing for Playboy, we've all begun to believe the implausible. And now, Playboy has officially confirmed that Moss, seen here at the Longchamp Flagship Store Launch Party at London Fashion Week, will appear on their 60th anniversary issue.

While higher profile models and actresses have graced the cover of Paris Playboy on occasion, this is probably the biggest get the somewhat seedier American Playboy has ever nabbed.

"This is a massive global brand. You need a global icon in order to celebrate that -- that was the impetus...She's the perfect partner for us to help launch the next 60 years," Playboy's editorial director Jimmy Jellinek told the Los Angeles Times.

Moss will pose in the brand's signature bunny ears, french cuffs and silk stockings for good friends and fashion photographers Mert and Marcus.

It's not the first time the model and photography team have paired up for a scandalous shoot. The December 2012 Vanity Fair cover featured the star in her underwear and she posed for the duo nude for the Kate Moss Porfolio. It will be styled by W Magazine and Chanel campaign veteran Alex White. Hairstyle Oribe talked about working on the shoot earlier this year, as well.

Another artist who has photographed Moss nude, Chuck Close, has reportedly been commissioned to make a painting of the cover.

The issue will debut in December, one month before Moss's 40th birthday. That will make a cheeky Christmas present for husband Jamie Hince.
