The Erin by Erin Fetherston presentation was a small affair at the supper club beneath the designer's New York City studio The Butterfly. The classic cocktail atmosphere was perfect for the garden party vibe of Fetherston's diffusion line. She called the pieces on display "a hanging garden."

No surprise, the location of Fetherston's summer wedding to rocker Gabe Saporta - Barbados - provided inspiration for this colorful collection. She designed a few dresses for that special occasion and reinvented them for Erin by Erin Fetherston.

If you need a cute spring frock, casual or more formal, Fetherston really has the niche on lock. From short beachy numbers in lemon yellow or white to a longer, asymmetrical shift in peach shot through with metallic silver she approaches feminine from a few angles. A short, navy chiffon number striped with small silver pyramid studs and topped off with a strapless silhouette and sheer neckline was one of my favorites.

After the presentation a lookbook was unveiled on Style.com. The designer also tweeted and regrams a bunch of pics from the evening on her twitter.

Clearly girls are still flocking to her collection. "This month, I've had more street sightings of real girls in my clothes than ever--and I've been doing this for nine years now," she told Style.com.

Saporta, Neiman Marcus' Ken Downing, Voguette Meredith Melling Burke and Fetherson's DJ pal Alex Merrell were all on hand.
