I'm always interested in a new collection launch, but for this case in point, there are twelve good reasons to be interested. Stepping up their game for the Autumn / Winter 2013 season, mass-market high street players Marks and Spencer have recruited a selection of Britain's Leading Ladies to front their new season campaign.

Billing in the vast and varied cast sees the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Ellie Goulding and fashion royalty, US Vogue's Grace Coddington, appear alongside artist Tracey Emin and Olympic gold winning boxer Nicola Adams. Helen Allen, inspiring nurse of 2011, and Jasmine Whitbread, CEO of Save the Children International, and also feature as well as award-winning author Monica Ali, ballerina Darcey Bussell, singer Laura Mvula and burns survivor Katie Piper. The famous cast were shot by world renowned photographer, Annie Leibovitz.

Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, Executive Director Marketing and Business Development at M&S said, "We wanted this campaign to signal a new and confident tone of voice to introduce Autumn. Annie was the perfect choice to shoot a campaign of this magnitude. Her unmistakable, signature style, with its truly dramatic aesthetic was exactly what we needed to communicate the essence of the campaign and of the new M&S. Annie's photography has become synonymous with defining key moments in the history of brands over the years and, as such, we feel that this campaign is the ideal way to illustrate M&S' move into a new era."

Dame Helen Mirren described her experience shooting the campaign as "like going to the ultimate dinner party - these women would be pretty close to my list". She added, "As women pass the age of 45 it doesn't mean they're not interested in fashion anymore. You don't have to start looking like a granny." The Oscar winning actress also claimed she was a regular //www.marksandspencer.com/">online over the coming months. What do you make of the shots? Let us know in the comments below.
