Is it time to think about sweaters yet? Knits we're coveting for autumn
The promise of sweater weather is pretty much the only thing keeping us from weeping into our discarded sundresses during this latest chilly snap. While summer clothing is easy and carefree, come autumn it's always a bit of a thrill to pull out our favorite boots and shop for cozy knits. We've rounded up a few favorites to get you inspired.
First up is ModCloth's Airport Greeting Cardigan in burgundy, $54.99. It also comes in charcoal, oatmeal, forest and blue. If you're a fan of establishing a seasonal "uniform" of sweater-skinnies-Frye boots or the like, you might want to get it in more than one color. It's very similar to a popular asymmetric zip sweater J.Crew carried a few years ago though obviously more affordable.
The Lucca Couture studded patch sweater, $59, combines our favorite grandpa sweater elbow patches with a sleeker silhouette and a bit of edge thanks to modern sueded patches and pyramid studs. It comes in black as well, but the oatmeal/maroon combo keeps this casual yet upscale and more office appropriate.
Fisherman sweaters were shown on runways as diverse as Marc Jacobs, The Row, Theyskens Theory and Tommy Hilfiger. This one from Ami Dans La Rue, $172, is a luxe and cozy version that is an investment but won't break the bank. It's not like it will go out of style. There will always be blizzards and ski weekends.
