Let's just say what everyone's thinking. This is Carine Roitfeld's The September Issue. Documentary filmmaker Fabien Constant followed Carine and her team as they created the first issue of her new mag CR Fashion Book.

"[The film] coincided with [Roitfeld's daughter] Julia's pregnancy and suddenly it gave her a new perspective on things," Constant told Fashionista. "The idea of birth, renewal in CR is linked to what she was experiencing... It is about her arrival in New York, which was a brand new start for her."

And ooh, la la is there a star-studded line up of appearances: Karl Lagerfeld, Kanye West, Riccardo Tisci, Albert Elbaz, Jean Paul Gaultier, P. Diddy, Alicia Keys, Cassie, Cate Blanchett, Diane Von Furstenberg, Mario Sorrenti, Natalia Vodianova, Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Donatella Versace, Mario Testino, Matthew Avedon, Nick Knight and Tom Ford.

Some bon mots include: "When you leave Vogue Paris, you leave your crown," and Carine yelling "Not cool!" during a montage of her turning down images and ideas in a manner not unlike another high-powered, hard-to-please editrix.

"I'm a rebel. I don't take photos, I tell stories," she tells the camera. "I'm Parisian, it shows in my style and in the style of my photos." The film seems to cover "fashion drama" like a model canceling at the last minute, lots of photo shoots, and hob knobing with fashion elite - bien sur!
