Henry Holland's ice cream van, Christopher Kane's new CEO and more fashion news
Start your monday with a dose of fashion news from the weekend - here's what you missed...
Fancy a Mr Quiffy? House of Holland is going mobile, and will be selling a capsule collection from a travelling ice cream van. You could not make this shiz up! The van will visit Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Seven Dials and Spitalfields in London before a quick jaunt up to Manchester before returning for London Fashion Week. If it's a success, you could see the van in Birmingham, Brighton, Leeds, Liverpool and Newcastle too. [Business of Fashion]
Alexandre de Brettes has been appointed CEO of Christopher Kane. This follows the acquisition of the label by luxury conglomerate Kering (formerly PPR). A high level recruitment like this signals plans for world fashion domination - "Together, we will focus on organic global growth and protecting and nurturing the creative DNA of our business" says Kane himself of the appointment. Miley Cyrus has ditched the cropped tops for a second to strip off completely - but don't worry, it's for charidee, innit! The star appears on a t-shirt for Marc Jacobs that's being sold to benefit the NYU Cancer Institute and the NYU Langone Medical Center. [My Fashion Life]
Most of us probably swipe the odd pen or envelope from work, but that pales in comparison to one Tiffany employee who walked away with £1.3 million worth of jewels. Ingrid Lederhaas-Okun stole over 165 pieces of jewellery during her employment and sold them on to resellers. She now faces 46 months in prison, and will have to pay back around half the money. [The Telegraph]
Katy Perry met Britney Spears and got all emotional about it. Ok, so it's not fashion news, but we love the photos of pop's two princesses together. Even though Britney's wearing Herve Leger bodycon. Again. [Popsugar]
