Creative Director Emma Hill set to leave Mulberry
She's been at the helm of iconic British brand Mulberry for the past five years as Creative Director, but news broke this week that Emma Hill and the brand will be going their separate ways.
A statement from Mulberry said, "Mulberry confirms that Emma has informed the company that she wishes to leave after a very successful period at Mulberry during which she has built a strong and talented creative team working for her. The main spring/summer 2014 collection has been completed and Emma continues to work in the business finalising the London Fashion Week collection which will be launched on September 15 2013. The timing of her departure is currently under discussion and has yet to be finalised."
Although the fashion rumour mill suggests that Emma is leaving due to "disagreements with management over creative and operational strategy" and could possibly be heading to Coach for her next appointment, both her next move and her replacement at Mulberry are yet to be announced. Having headed up the brand during it's sky rocket to success, including the iconic releases including the Alexa and Del' Rey bags, we get the feeling she'll be hard to replace.
