CQ Watch: Isabel Marant talks of her upcoming collection for H&M
Following all the successes which have graced H&M and its happy go lucky designer partnerships, think Donatella Versace meets Marni and Lanvin, French designer Isabel Marant wouldn't have been at the top of our list for the next match up. Known for their laid back premium Parisian style, the unlikely yet strikingly appealing pairing gives the Swedish based label yet more and more fashion credibility amongst its mass affordable appeal audience.
Isabel Marant said, "I am flattered by this collaboration: H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honour. I am creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up , but you do not pay much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one's own instincts: my take on fashion is all about personality."
Not launching unrtil November 14th, the new collection isn't available any time soon (you've got to give everyone who's anyone chance to schedule in queuing up around the block for the chance to elbow equally determined fashionistas out of their way to bag themselves a bargain), but there's no doubt this collection will be definitely worth being on the look out for.
Creative Advisor at H&M said, "We are excited to have Isabel Marant as a guest designer at H&M. The way she mixes different elements in her collections, creating a style that is effortless and urban, makes her very contemporary. She has a fantastic eye for ethnic detail and the rare ability to create something that people really want to wear. We are sure that the H&M customers will be enthusiastic about this collection".
H&M have established themselves as not only a hugely affordable retailer, but one worthy of fashion royalty with Isabel Marant adding to a long list of kudos worthy collaborations. The collection is set to launch in at 250 stores nationwide as well as online. Watch the vid above to see Isabel talking through the collection and watch this space for more information on the launch.
