Dress of the Day: Reformed Fauna Dress
I think, if we all looked carefully, we'd find a dress exactly like this one at the back of our wardrobes (or perhaps our mums). The nineties saw an influx of styles like this which fell at a midi length (not in an ironic way worn with chunky ankle boots that mean business like nowadays), with waisted shape, full button up fastening and floral-type print, and they were probably from Marks and Spencers or Bhs. Unlike our mothers or generations gone by, I won't be taking inspiration by styling this dress with corresponding perm and pearl-escent lipstick which commonly matched this frock, I will however be lusting after this vintage inspired style. For a while.
Complete with capped sleeves, graphic floral print, sweat-heart neckline and full ankle grazing skirt with thigh splits, this dress gets me excited about summer. With endless possibilities in terms of styling (go grunge with biker boots and leather biker or ultimate festival chic with ethereal accessories), this vintage revived number such a great addition to any wardrobe.
