Best Dressed at the Billboard Music Awards 2013
After pouring through all of the celebrity coverage from the weekend, we've finally managed to tear our eyes away from the Cannes Festival red carpet long enough to check out the celebs posing on the Billboard Music Awards bright blue rug. As stars of the big screen try not to get the hems of their dresses wet in France, the cream of the music industry were able to avoid umbrellas (and underwear in Kesha's case) as they attended the 2013 Billboard Awards at The MGM Grand in Vegas.
Selena Gomez opened the evening with a bang in a sexy white Atelier Versace gown featuring fun neon piping and a fair number of slits, splits, and panelling (showing Justin Beiber what he's missing are we Selena?) and gained further kudos by keeping accessories to a minimum, ensuring all eyes were on the dress and it's missing parts.
Designer Zuhair Murad had a stellar night, dressing three of the events biggest stars. Jennifer Lopez wore a golden Couture number befitting her style (fitted? check. sheer? check. cleavage? check.) whilst Emmy Rossum showed us how to do peek-a-boo with class thanks to a gothic piece from the Autumn Winter 2013 collection detailing polka dot tulle, long sleeves and a mermaid skirt. Murad also ensured that singer Taylor Swift looked fabulously glam as she collected all EIGHT of her awards in a stunning vibrant blue minidress from his pre Fall 2013 collection. Although she always looks gorgeous in her full length gowns, I love seeing Taylor switch it up with something fun and youthful, and her sparkling dress ticked all the right boxes.
Last on our list but by no means least was Miley Cyrus, who rocked the blue carpet in a totally-Vegas-appropriate Balmain jumpsuit. The punk loving singer (who teaming her freshly chopped quiff with a powerful red lip, kohl rimmed eyes, gold manicure and hefty engagement ring) certainly stood out from the crowd in the sparkling check and lace embroidered suit, don't you think?
