Hey so the daily news round-up took a snooze yesterday, but the good news (ha!) is that it's back and better than ever. Well, maybe. See for yourself:

1. That clever kid, James Franco, is dabbling in some producing. (Is there anything he can't do?) He has released the trailer for his new documentary, The Director, which is all about Gucci's Frida Giannini. As one of the faces of the label, Franco approached Giannini about doing a doco on her, and it seems it paid off with the film premiering at Tribeca this week. Scope it out, above. {Vogue UK}

2. Can I just ask WTF is up with Burberry lately? In addition to recruiting children (albeit children of very famous people) for their campaigns, they're also seem to be setting their sights on semi-famous couples. Namely Sienna Miller and her fiance, Tom Sturridge, to be precise. They, along with Suki Waterhouse, are said to be among the latest crop of Burberry faces. Why? Who effing knows? {Daily Mail}

Reese Witherspoon arrest3. Following on from her arrest over the weekend, Reese Witherspoon has apologised for her obnoxious "don't you know who I am?" moment with a police officer when her hubby, Jim Toth, was pulled over for a DUI. The actress also ended up in the slammer on Friday night after she was arrested for disorderly conduct. In a statement, she said:

"Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behaviour."

Gotta love drunken 'slebs huh?

4. It turns out the rumours that John Galliano is taking up a teaching position are, in fact, true. The designer will join Parsons The New School For Design in New York to lead a masterclass series called 'Show me Emotion!' The three-day workshop will offer students a final critique of their work - pretty rad, yes? But not everyone is so keen to sign up for a class with Professor Galliano... {Styleite}

5. Carine Roitfeld is upping the ante on her hugely successful amFAR gala at Cannes this year. For its 20th edition, the fundraiser will include a gold themed tribute to Elizabeth Taylor. The runway show, which is being organised with the help of Naomi Campbell, will feature 40 models wearing gold looks from a range of designers. Last year's event raised a record-breaking $11 million for charity. {WWD}

6. After a 13-year hiatus Viktor & Rolf are returning to the Paris haute couture calendar. To celebrate their 20th anniversary in fashion, the Dutch duo are gearing up to show a couture collection this July. Huzzah! {WWD}

7. So last week sucked balls. Like big hairy ones. But despair not, here are 13 reasons why the world is still awesome. A few include the fact that summer is coming (did ya feel the sun on the weekend London, did ya?!), television is très good at the mo' (e.g. Mad Men, Game of Thrones, et al); also same-sex marriage is now legal in New Zealand. Yep, the world still rocks! {Jezebel}
