michelle williams anOther cover controversy

Today's news round-up is right here for your reading pleasure:

  • Cannes Film Festival just got a whole lot more glamorous with the news that The Great Gatsby will open the 2013 event. The long-awaited adaptation from Baz Lurhmann will be screened in 3D on opening night. My imagination is already going into overdrive as to what the likes of Carey Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprio will wear on the red carpet. Eek! [Vogue UK]
  • One of my favourites, Michelle Williams (I love her!), has run into some controversy after appearing on the cover of British mag, AnOther, dressed as a Native American. Erm, don't we remember what went down when Karlie Kloss hit the Victoria's Secret Show in similar attire last November? "We can't believe how offensive Michelle Williams' latest cover is," wrote Refinery29. "They added super-long, thick, black extensions and braided them - and darkened her eyebrows. Then there's the make-up." Oh dear. [Daily Mail]

  • Kate Moss took her glossy locks out to party at the Kerastase London launch last night. Dressed in a giant fur coat and a Louis Vuitton black slip dress, she was practically joined at the hip with Kerastase's Creative Director, Luigi Murenu. And she apparently drank zero booze. Say what?! [Grazia UK]

  • We have blogged previously about Lily Aldridge's debut collection for Velvet. Now here is your first look at said collection... [Vogue UK]

  • It seems magazine covers that feature Rihanna and Taylor Swift don't sell very well. While on the other hand sales of Lady Gaga and Adele covers are among the best sellers. Any guesses why? [WWD]

  • Is Elle Macpherson getting married? Whispers say that the supermodel has accepted a proposal from her on-again-off-again property tycoon, Jeff Soffer. If true it will be the second walk down the aisle for the one they call The Body. [Access Hollywood]
