I think of all the events on the red carpet calender, the Kids Choice Awards has got to be one of the hardest ones to dress for. What does one wear to essentially a children's party, yet with international press in attendance too. See how Kristen Stewart, Katy Perry and Jessica Alba fared, making to to the top of my best dressed list.

Stepping out on the red carpet wearing a black and blue checked matching top and shorts for the event, Kristen Stewart reminded me of the Luis Vuitton outfit she wore to one of the last Twilight film premieres. But in a smaller scale check, the matching two piece by Osman looked at home on Kristen, whilst the structured shoulders and jacquard type fabric still channelled her usual red carpet edge. Kristen finished the look with scruffy fishtail plait and smokey eyes.

After a rumoured break up from John Mayer, I'm not sure if Katy Perry was trying to "show him what he was missing" as many reports claim, or if she just decided to go all out for the event, but either way I think she killed it in this Herve Leger matching crop top and pencil skirt. With vibrant tropical print the second-skin tight skirt was matched with cross back crop top and co-ordinated heels showing off her enviable curves to perfection.

And finally Jessica Alba's red carpet look made it to the top of my best dressed list, wearing a printed silk iridescent fit and flare dress from Mary Katrantzou's Spring / Summer 2013 collection. She teamed it with pastel toned Stella McCartney clutch, tossed over flowing locks and glowing make up. The only element I'm unsure of is her choice of shoes; ultra feminine Christian Louboutin pointed heels with contrast bow were classic in style, but kind of contradicted her cool on-point Mary K dress.
