Never before (I don't think) has a theme been more prevalent. Yesterday at London Fashion Week, PPQ showcased their oh so eighties Autumn / Winter 2013 collection to a celebrity filled front row and a fashion crowd bursting at the seams. Yes, a full house turned up in their finest to see what was on offer from one of the most high profile designers on schedule.

Colour was the order of the day, and lots of it. Pop colour pinks, blues, yellows and oranges took to the catwalk in the form of eighties style power suits and statement outerwear contrasted with black on details like pockets, collars and buttons. In keeping with this, print was loud and bright with a cartoon graffiti aesthetic featuring across soft jersey fabrics in body-con shapes and slim fit leggings. Iconic styling details here gave the collection an edge with off the shoulder shapes, oversized black angular hats Pretty Woman style and double breasted blazer shapes.

And then came the prom portion of the show; continuing at full speed ahead on the colour front, a series of typical prom shapes appeared featuring full skirts, colour blocked brights and blacks and eighties detailing. These were styled with elbow length silk gloves, sheer black work wear style tights and power dressing stilettos emblazoned with P's and Q's.

The collection ended on a high with a selection of mainly black dresses (still eighties prom) with sheer sections, feather detail, sweetheart necklines, halter necks and peplum waists. Also have to mention the black velvet cat-suit which with skin tight cut, was decorated with bows and feature large front cut out - not for the feint hearted.
