As the rain and snow continued to fall over London and the BAFTA red carpet, the stars in attendance - particularly the younger crowd - continued to defy the weather with their outfits. After managing to catch a last minute flight out of New York (which is currently home to Fashion Week despite A LOT of snow) the youngest sister of Mary Kate and Ashley, Miss Elizabeth Olsen, walked towards the Royal Opera House in a dress that has divided opinions.

Like many other actresses tonight, Elizabeth chose a couture gown - a tiered black and white Chanel number from the Fall 2011 collection. Nominated for this years Rising Star Award, the gorgeous lesser-known Olsen sister chose to wear a fashion forward piece featuring a shimmering blossom print, feathers and what I can only describe as a peplum-meets-saddle-bag at the waist/hip. Whilst I adore the detail and colour in the pattern and the fitted style of the dress overall, I'm not sure that the dramatic dress needs to have something hanging from the hips - yes, not even the daring Elizabeth can quite pull this off for me.

Finishing on a high note, I love the almost-halter straps, the black and gold clutch and the minimal, classic makeup provided by Lancome. What do you think?
