Dior at the BAFTAs: Jennifer Lawrence & Marion Cotillard
Although Rising star nominee Alicia Vikander was the first to wear Dior on the red carpet this evening, it came as no surprise to see Dior girls Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard flying the flag for their beloved fashion house at the 2013 BAFTAs this evening!
First up was Jennifer, who kept her black tux coat on over her dress during her walk down the red carpet, and who can blame her; after all she's still getting over a bout of pneumonia and it's freezing in London tonight. The Hunger Games actress (who is nominated for Leading Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook) shed her coat once she got inside to reveal a strapless sugar pink gown strewn with multicoloured sequins and detailing a pleated skirt. Like many other actresses attending the event, Jennifer's hair was slicked back to avoid being spoilt by the downpour and thankfully it worked in her favour - the minimal hairstyle and restrained accessorising worked beautifully with the dress.
Having been the face of Lady Dior for a number of years, Marion Cotillard worked the red carpet like a pro, pulling some amusing "OH MY GOD I'M FREEZING" faces for the cameras and showcasing an amazing canary yellow Dior Haute Couture gown that not only looked incredible on Marion, but also went some way to prove once and for all that Jennifer Lawrence really didn't rip her dress at the SAG Awards! Marion (who is also in the running for the Leading Actress BAFTA for her portrayal in Rust and Bone) was a ray of sunshine in the downpour this evening, teaming her dress with an understated side swept chignon and elegant diamond necklace.
