VOTE: SAG Awards mini-trend - the best hot pink hues
Green may have been the colour of the night at the SAG Awards, but that didn't stop other mini trends popping up as the red carpet coverage progressed. Three high profile attendees took the show's 'fun' reputation as a chance to go all out in bold hot pink, the kind of 'pop of colour' the red carpet critics love when elsewhere is a sea of black and white.
First up is Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, who wore a very simple sheath with lace panels on the front and back by Elie Saab. Nina is lucky enough to have the willowy model-esque physique to be able to pull of something this simple and elegant, as a big gown might have drowned her a little. The skinny belt and jewelled clutch finish the look perfectly. She looks elegant, but not overdone.
Freida Pinto took pink somewhere very different in her Roland Mouret gown with a cowl neck and black belt. The draped neckline and the mock bob hairdo are great together, but we think the dress looks a bit big on the top half? Given that Mouret has such a strong reputation for making incredibly well-fitting dresses that shape and sculpt with built in powermesh linings, it's odd to see one of his red carpet gowns looking like it could have done with a bit more tailoring at the waist. Perhaps Freida wanted something a little loose that she could breathe in?
Finally, a dress you may have spotted earlier in our Glee post, Lea Michele's very romantic, pretty Valentino gown. This is the ultimate way to do hot pink - go big or go home. Lea's the perfect girl to try something like this, and by keeping her hair and jewels simple she avoids 'princess' territory.
