Although there may be lots of Spring / Summer 2013 new season collections on the approach, there's no denying we're in somewhat of a lull fashion-wise. We're done with Autumn / Winter 2012 now, over it. We're ready for something new. Or are we? Can we realistically tackle the new and exciting trends of SS13 in a wear-right-now-it's-freezing-cold-and-January-type- of-a-way? No, not yet. So what happens in between?

This is the reason why we're ever grateful for people like Topshop, who don't leave this transition period un-served with must-have fashion wants. We're head over heels for their "Arthaus" collection, which we're finding bridges the gap just nicely between seasons.

The in-between offering is said to be inspired by the clean lines and a futuristic ethos of the Bauhaus movement; Topshop are advocating dressing like a modernist, and we think we're on board. The mostly monochrome streamline collection is all about simplicity, effortlessness and clean dressing, mainly consisting of sleek boxy coats, geometric patterning, graphic cut outs, flared trouser shapes and strappy block heels. Apparently this is the new minimalism. They've got us convinced.
