Savannah Miller launches Spring 2013 collection
This week, a tea party was thrown in honour of Savannah Miller's second collection from her new eponymous label. Her Spring 2013 collection was unveiled at a small gathering where guests including Matthew Williamson, Irina Lazareanu and her sister Sienna Miller browsed the 60 pieces on offer.
Savannah, who is determined to keep her clothing affordable (nothing in the collection is above £125) has been spurred on by how the tough economic times have affected people. "It really struck me lately that a lot of people, friends included, are just hanging in there by a thread financially. But they also want to feel fashionable and cool - and I want to fulfill that need," she told Style.com.
For six years Savannah and Sienna were co-creative directors at their fashion label, Twenty8Twelve. Last year the sisters stepped down from the company and shortly after Sienna gave birth to her first child, Marlowe. Savannah, who has three children of her own, announced she would be launching her own line, which was unveiled in November last year. Now revealing her second collection it seems that she, like her famous sister, is still inspired by all things bohemian.
"This is very much my project. It's the first time I am really standing alone as a designer," she said. "Bohemia is who I am. I think once you have a taste in design, it is very difficult to move away from. Though I hope throughout the collections I can evolve that look a lot more."
