Report: Naomi Campbell was allegedly mugged in Paris
Updated 8/1/13: A police report has confirmed that an incident involving Naomi Campbell took place on November 21 in Paris. Two men on motorbikes reportedly attempted to steal her handbag while the supermodel was inside a limousine. While nothing was stolen she did file a police report but did not undergo a medical assessment.
Conflicting reports have been swirling all over the web throughout the weekend claiming that Naomi Campbell was mugged while in Paris. On Friday several news outlets alleged that the British supermodel had been robbed and attacked in the French capital last month.
According to the New York Post several sources have revealed that Campbell suffered a leg injury as she tried to hail a cab in the street. She was "knocked over and robbed," which resulted in a torn ligament.
"It was terrifying. Naomi believes the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone," a source told Page Six. "Her leg was injured as she was violently pushed to the ground. She was understandably very upset and shaken up."
Although it is unknown what was allegedly stolen from her, it is believed the thugs targeted her for the expensive jewellery she was wearing. Following the ordeal she was said to be using a wheelchair and crutches to get around. She was recently photographed in a wheelchair but it is unknown whether her injury was related to an attack on her. Her billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, flew into Colarado where Naomi was being treated by an orthopaedic surgeon. She continued her recovery in Miami.
Despite wide reporting of the incident, a spokesperson for Campbell has so far refused to comment. Furthermore, Paris police have confirmed they have no record of the mugging which seems rather odd. Adding to the strangeness, Naomi has been tweeting regularly but has made no mention of an assault.
Perhaps she just prefers to put it behind her, then again perhaps we'll simply never know the truth.
