Kate Hudson to create capsule collection for Ann Taylor
Like many other starlets Kate Hudson will soon cross the threshold into fashion design. The actress has confirmed she will launch her first capsule collection for Ann Taylor, in addition to signing on again as the face of the fashion label.
Hudson joins the company as a guest designer, and will work alongside creative director, Lisa Axelson, to design a line of clothing inspired by her red carpet looks for everyday wear.
"Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience, and there is a really wonderful connection," said Hudson. "Ann Taylor is great at creating iconic wardrobe staples and updating them season after season. I love that Lisa Axelson is designing clothes for real women."
The 33-year-old daughter of Goldie Hawn has been representing Ann Taylor since its spring 2012 campaign. In addition to acting as a brand ambassador, she is set to join the advisory council for Ann Inc.'s ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative. The initiative is aimed at empowering young women to serve as global leaders. Hudson's role will be to help select grant proposals and act as a mentor to female high school students.
The Kate Hudson for Ann Taylor collection is due to launch in-store in May.
